Going to the beach for our 4th (5th?) annual girl's weekend! One of my friend's grandmother's has a condo in OC and we all go every year. Crabs and sand, here I come!
This will be the first year I'm not tipsy for half the weekend, so that'll be different.
My husband is coming home tonight, conveniently *after* the storm that was going to end the world has passed.*
Unfortunately I have annoying-ass company coming on Sunday, which means I'm going to be saltier than usual for a week. Maybe we can watch the Olympics to avoid having to actually interact.
*ETA: This is a joke. He was traveling for work and obviously had no control over his schedule or the weather. SO CALM DOWN, YOU.
charminglife - We got the world's creepiest cloud cover that rolled in like a bad movie scene. It was so bizarre that I took pictures (are we FB friends? If so, I posted one there). It seriously felt like the end of the world.
We did get a lot of wind, thunder, and lightning, but the rain was surprisingly mild. Two hours later I watched part two of the storm roll by just south of us - more creepy clouds and crazy lightning. I normally don't get all panicky about storms, but there have been such horror stories about derechos that I was on edge.
I'm not sure! Normally we spent time on the boats, but the weather is going to be iffy so we might get some housekeeping stuff done. I need to go to toys r us which is a 40-min drive away. I will make DH come because if the baby gets cranky it's nice to have help!
Yay AH! I am definitely jealous of your daydrinking
We have a party at my CW's tomorrow night, and I'm probably going to the pool on Sunday with my BFF and her kids...but other than those things, a long run tomorrow morning, and some errands not a whole lot is going on (besides Olympics watching, of course).
Driving from Chicago to Cincinnati tonight. We'll be staying with friends for the weekend. They're getting a babysitter for our kiddos tomorrow night, so we'll get a grown-ups night out! Woohoo! I'm sure we'll go to the Cincinnati zoo one day, and we'll probably check out the waterfront area.

HUbs is working pretty late (he's in the middle of a trial) and my mom is here. We are going out with a friend, her mom and her 2 boys tonight. Just dinner and then probably some ice cream.
Tomorrow baby shower. Hoping Hubs wraps up work at a decent time and we can leave the kids at home with Grandma.
Summer Fridays at work. I hope to leave as close to 2pm as possible.
I may have convinced my husband to drive my best friend to a job interview 1.5 hours away tomorrow morning. In which case I will go to boot camp and then come home and clean the house. We're going to see Brave tomorrow afternoon and have majorly exciting plans to take a yoga class on Sunday.
Yeah, but we drove all over LA and Orange Counties last weekend AND camped for 2 nights, so I really am going to relish being home most of the weekend.
I am going to stay with a girlfriend this weekend. Tonight we are going to a club where I have been promised there will be lots of hot military men. Tomorrow we are going shopping in ATL, pool time, and then to a house party. I havent planned anything for Sunday since I will probably need it for recovery by the pool but I have several books Ive been itching to get into just in case.

squeeee!!!!!
This sounds really cute! One of my girlfriends is expecting with twins.
No actual plans, but I need to make up a good story since we're refusing to make the 3-hour drive for my mom's birthday. She's not taking it well.
That reminds me that I need to figure out an excuse to not go to a rally thing that my BFF is organizing. She organized it last year and I had a real excuse. I also had a real excuse for the fundraiser she did a few months ago. I'm trying to avoid telling her that while I'm obviously a feminist and I support the ideology, I don't agree with her organization and the way they spread the message. :/

My nephew's first birthday party is this weekend so I'm driving up to my sister's tomorrow and hanging until Sunday afternoon. And then? And then? XH will finally be home and I can drop off babycakes and get some fucking SLEEP. Two and a half weeks chasing a three year old who suddenly refuses to sleep like a non-asshole should be illegal.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
Running, seeing Batman, drinking, grilling, hanging out in my pool. I'll probably clean up the house a little bit too. Real exciting I know.
Probably swing by B&N and pick up a bridal mag or something to send to one of my bff's that just got engaged...
Your weekend sounds a lot like mine, minus the Batman watching (we saw it at one of the midnight openings last week). Hope you guys like the movie, we loved it! Not as much as the last one, but IMO it was still pretty great.

I'M MOVING BACK IN MY HOUSE!
Sorry for the caps but too excited. We had major storm damage in Irene back last august and since then have bounced between family, friends, hotels and an apartment (with 2 dogs in tow) until late March. We then moved back but have been living in one basement room with no windows, no kitchen, and no lights (or door!) in the one working bathroom. Just Dh, the dogs and me in 200 sqft for 4 months (also no TV or internet so basically just staring at each other).
They are finishing up the floors today and we are moving our stuff out of the basement and hopefully on sunday I'll wake up to sunlight for the 1st time since March.

That is GREAT news. I can't imagine living like that for close to a year - I'm sure Sunday morning will be awesome.
After my spectacularly shittastical day concludes here, we're watching the opening ceremony with osso bucco. Tomorrow we get up early, go hiking, pick up newly released beer 40 min away, shop for shower presents, and hit up a wedding shower by 2pm. Maybe drive-in that night, unless we're too exhausted/would rather watch Olympics. Sunday NOTHING. Except clean the sty and make beer.
