How do you account for breastfeeding? Do you just add it in as exercise and 500 calories? My supply seems to decrease when I cut my calories so I want to make sure I'm recording semi-accurately
I don't add it every day because that annoyed me. I started out setting my calorie level to maintain my weight (assuming that burning 500 calories for BF every day would give me a deficit to lose a pound per week). After a few weeks that wasn't cutting it (probably because I wasn't counting on the weekends at all, whoops!) so I changed it to "lose 1/2 pound per week." That way I'm giving myself extra calories for BF.
So far I've been losing a pound per week using that number, which for me is 2000 calories a day. I haven't had any supply issues yet, fortunately.
I added it as "cardio exercise", but then you have to add it every day. What smock suggested is easier and doesn't list "breastfeeding" on your feed every day (hated that).
I added it as a food with -500 calories. It should pop up when you search for it.
I used to do this as well.. But it just randomly stopped working one day. It was weird. But, my app could have a bug in it or something because I never found anybody else this happened to.
When I add it as food, it doesn't actually add calories to my total even though I put -500. I'll try to adjust my total calories. Thanks!
Try a different one, it doesn't add it to your total for the # of calories, it subtracts it from what ever meal you add it to (I used to add it to breakfast) so that my breakfast in total would be negative or net to zero. At the top, it always showed that I had 1475 - food eaten = calories available, when I just added BF'ng it showed up as 1975 available still.
