Should not be watched by an overdue hormonal pregnant woman who didn't read the book and went into the movie blind. I heard it was good but I should have read the back of the box. I've been living under a rock.

I just finished the book last month, we read it at my Book Club. I liked it well enough, from the name alone you knew it wasn't going to have a happy ending.
Also, I read the book when it first came out and I felt all warm and fuzzy and sad about the love story.
When I saw the movie, all I could think was omg, her poor parents. Uggggh.
This happened to me. I read the book before having a kid and I enjoyed it well enough, though it's not my favorite John Green book (Looking for Alaska, yo!). I think having a kid changed my focus because I saw the movie last weekend and found myself bawling at all the scenes with the parents.

i think it's a movie vs. book thing. i read it after having DD and the parent thing didnt hit me that hard but in the movie it killed me. i dont know if it was havung the visual of her parents, the actual scene of when she was so sick and her parents by her bed or what but the parent thing killed me in the movie.
