I tried using the search function, and tried googling CD & GBCN, but all that came up was a bunch of non-existent posts.
I think I want to start CD'ing now that DD has normal human poop & not disgusting BM poops. I've googled, but, OMG, there are a million websites and resources.
DD has chunky chunk legs, so, if you have chunky leg recommendations, insert those here, please.
Honestly, there are a ton of websites because there is a TON of info. Types of CDs (all in one, pocket, fitted, prefolds, etc) and then all the different brands and such.. it's truly overwhelming.
DD was (is) skinny, so no help on the chunky legs because I was always looking for skinny kid recommendations.
My two cents:
I loved Tots Bots (all in one that "came apart" in the wash so it dried faster). (BTW- I have a couple of these I would sell, if you find that you're interested)
Bumgenius 4.0 (pockets) were good for daycare.
Fitteds are really my jam, though. These are not water proof, so some people like them, some people don't.
I found the Cloth 101 section on Kelly's Closet was the most helpful. This is where I also buy most of my cloth diapers from, because they always have coupon codes for a free diaper, and they have a good "diaper dollars" program to earn store credit.
I also searched on Pinterest for cloth diaper 101, and found lots of good info. There is definitely A LOT of info out there, and its definitely overwhelming.

The most helpful thing I did when researching cloth diapers was going to a baby boutique store and having the sales woman run me through the options to get hands on experience. The plethora of information on the Internet was too overwhelming. In the end, one size pockets won me over. Charlie banana, sunbaby and alva pocket diapers all adjust pretty large.

Green Mountain Diapers was where I got the info to get me started.
I used fittes/prefolds and covers ( green mountain diapers and thirsties covers) and I have some AIO's for family/daycare use, but I prefer fitted and covers. Not a fan of pockets although everyone i know swears by them. No help on recs, DS is lean.
I'm the opposite of you though, I only plan to CD while LO is EBF. Once he starts solids I plan to switch to disposable full time.
ETA: AIO's are BUmmies brand. I also buy from Abby's Lane because they are on sale more often.
I liked this chick's YouTube series because it's easy to watch vs read! youtu.be/gVo6SMebcX8
I ended up getting bumGenius 4.0s. I also have some Charlie Bananas but I like them a little less. I signed up for emails from Cotton Babies and waited for a seconds sale. I would recommend that if you're looking for the 4.0s- they don't come with a microfiber insert. I switched to Alva bamboo inserts and hemp ones now that DS has more pee. The seconds were all in great condition. I think maybe Kawaii also does an AIO that's similar?
As the pps have said, there is a TON of info. I bought all the same type of diaper, which I know isn't a great idea, but it was easier to commit to one type and not overthink it for me.
I would definitely do a CD trial and check out the different varieties. Every baby is different and you want to make sure you get a good fit before committing to a particular brand. I use a whole bunch: TotsBots, Applecheeks, BG 4.0's Freetimes and Elementals, Flips, Best Bottoms and some Blueberry covers. I've recently been moving my entire stash away from microfiber, as it has a limited life and I've found that it holds onto stink, so if I were starting again, I'd stay away from MF (Freetimes are an AIO that are MF, 4.0's are stuffed w/ MF but I use my own inserts for those). My son is pretty trim, but I have friends who use all the diapers I use with their chunky babies with no problems. If I'm remembering correctly from your IG posts, you can sew a little....? You might be able to make some of your own inserts to suit your daughter's needs, if you want to.
Feel free to PM me with any questions. Check around your area to see if you have a cloth diapering group. There's one where I live that has been an awesome resource and I wish everyone had access to one!
We ordered several options from Kelly's closet and took advantage of the trial program. We used prefolds and covers for newborns, tots bots for daycare, and a combo of pockets and flips for home now that they're bigger.
I need more information on what your priorities are. If you want the lowest cost, I can send you to Alva and Kawaii, but they're pockets you have to stuff. If you want all-in-ones, that's something else (I have a BG Freetime that's okay). You probably don't want to bother with overnight as it tends to be hard to find something that doesn't leak and honestly, it's not worth $30/diaper to make that happen. Would you try a two-piece diaper (prefolds or fitteds plus a cover), or is that too hard to get onto your kid? Is trendiness/cuteness a priority? Do you have some weird vendetta against things made in China?

I think the pre-folds would be difficult because she is a wiggly little thing. I already fight with her to get a a diaper on her.
Cheaper is better, but, I don't want to have to replace them in 3 months because they fall apart or whatever. I don't think I mind the pockets. MH has been ranting lately that "everything we buy dd is made in China." so, USA made is better, i guess.... that's his issue, not mine. Cute/trendy is middle of my priority list. Saving money is at the top. Meaning, I would rather invest a few hundred dollars now and quit spending a zillion dollars on huggies. plus, the environment and all that.

I will check out all your links. @tokenhoser
I like pockets because you can stuff them according to your child's needs and they're still easy to put on (no multiple layers of stuff to deal with). They're a great place to start. Once you get into the swing of things, you can branch out and experiment, but pockets would be my choice for a beginner.

If you have a bigger baby I would stay away from Rumparooz, M has almost outgrown them, and we have a lot of diapering ahead of us. I also find the Bum Genius Freetimes to be smaller than the 4.0s.
Honestly, I have spent a lot of money and tried a large variety of diapers and my favorite to get us through all stages has been Bum Genius 4.0. This is partly due to M's sensitive skin and partly due to what's easiest.

I miss newborn poo so much! I tried the G Diaper hybrid and wasn't a fan. Now I'm really liking pockets. It's not hard to find time to stuff them while watching TV or whatever and they are holding up well. I have a huge variety of brands given to me by a friend though and they're hit or miss. Not sure what will fit chunky thighs better, but you'll have less leaks at least! The snaps are fairly adjustable, like alva, kawaii, and bumgenius.
