If you got a BFP via IUI, how many follies did you have at your last check and how big were they? Did those follies result in a singleton? twins? more?
We're in an IUI cycle now (I just started the clomid a couple days ago), and will likely need to make a pretty quick decision about whether or not to move forward with the trigger/IUI on the basis of whatever our last check shows. We're actively avoiding multiples since we have a set of 4-year-old twins already, so we want to minimize our risk of multiples while maximizing our probability of getting pregnant.

It just occurred to me that I should probably answer my own question, in case anyone else wanders by wondering the same thing.
The cycle that yielded the twins, I had a 19 mm and a 17 mm at the last check (pre-trigger, 3 days before IUI), and they both "took" (fraternal twins). I was on Clomid and Metformin at the time.
If you really don't want multiples I would be hesitant to do anything with more than 2 follies. However, given that both took last time that's something for you to decide if you want to risk it or do a cycle with one 1 which would pry be hard to do for an IUI.
I had 3 failed IUI's and 2 had 2 follicles and the last had 3 follicles. I had one cycle with 5+ with the RE that was cancelled (I won't do selective reduction). 2nd attempt at IUI with RE was the same with numerous follicles so we switched to IVF. Apparently clomid does nothing for me but Bravelle puts my ovaries into overdrive.

On my left ovary I had four, sized at 21, 16, 20, 12mm and on the right I had a 14mm. I triggered that evening and had IUI 36 hours later. Result was a single viable pregnancy in the uterus and an ectopic in my right tube, which was removed.
I know I'm super late answering this but I had 4 mature and ended up with a singleton. However, based on your history, maybe you have more of a chance of multiples?
We cancelled. At the last check, I had one 17 mm on one side and one 18 mm on the other. My estrogen was only 342, so we debated a lot about whether or not the low E2 meant that both weren't "good" and we could therefore risk it. Ultimately, we decided that we should sit it out since we had more than one mature/nearly-mature follicle and it was our first cycle.
We'll try again on a lower dosage of Clomid (50 instead of 100) and see if that's any better. If I keep having 2 mature/nearly so follies, we'll probably go forward with the IUI in the future. We don't want to perpetually cancel cycles.

We did 3 IUI's 2 of the 3 were successful with the first being a girl we lost at 9 weeks due to Triploidy.
-First IUI we triggered with 8 (scary I realize) follicles. And at our first scan there was only one (5w4d)
-Second IUI 4 follicles.
Our Thrid IUI we triggered with 6 follicles and there were 2 that took. We had a vanishing twin by 6 weeks.
All IUI's were done with injects. Lupron and Gonal F with ovadril trigger. My clinic is known for it's high rate of multiples. (as you can tell given when we did our IUI's). If we were to have another child we'd go right for IUI. I wouldn't want to trigger with more than 2 at that point and ride out a longer time trying perhaps then risk multiples. While we welcomed them the first time, I couldn't risk that the second.
ETA: Just realized how old this thread is! Sorry guys!
