Because even with the Winter Olympics being in Vancouver it was on a three hour time delay! I'm assuming this will be true for this year unless they changed it.
Oh, you mean Olympics in general? You do realize Olympics are normally aired live? Right?
Not in the US.
Unless you watch it on one of the cable channels. But for the typical network coverage, they put the best events on in price time, no matter when they actually occurred.
Us Americans can't accept that things don't work on out timeframe

Well, our ********TIME************* is very important.
I also just don't sit at home all day long. Ok, well maybe some days I do. But If I'm not at home and I am doing other things... then I'm not watching TV and I do think people should just put a "spoiler alert" in their title. That's all I'm asking! Simple. No?

OK, I'll check whether you're out before posting any spoilers. (Note: I will probably never post anything about the Olympics, ever.)
Or how about just assume all posts about whatever Olympic event will contain information about that Olympic event? I mean, I assume if I post something about gymnastics, for example, that if you don't want to know, you just don't open the post.

America sucks. Don't you know that NBC will only show clips during prime time? So yes, everything that anyone watches live will be a spoiler for all americans.

That's really simple.
Look at that - a practical and logical idea!
But no, let's all remain mum on anything regarding the olympics just in case OP comes onto the board amid all her other activities.
I don't think Joenali's request is unreasonable. Just last week someone was complaining that everyone was talking about the results of the Bachelorette 4 days after it aired because it was a "spoiler" post for those who hadn't seen it yet. If you are just talking about the Olympics in general, that's fine. If you are posting that so and so won a gold medal in a certain event, why not post "spoiler" for those who haven't seen it live.
I thought the opening ceremonies were being aired at central time so everyone could watch together on the mainland?
Nope. I'm in CA and it's not airing until 7:30 PST.
In addition to prime time, NBC is airing stuff during the day, as well as a shorter late night broadcast after the late local news. I'm pretty sure their affiliate cable stations like USA, MSNBC CNBC, Universal, etc. are also airing events.

I just thunk she might be disappointed when Mike Phelps medals and she hears about it. It will be somewhere. Facebook, people in line at Starbucks...you will hear it

Stupid NBC. I miss our cable provder from when we lived in OH because they got CBC (Canadian) and it always had the best Olympic coverage. I'm slightly closer to Canada here in NY and no CBC.

It isnt on CBc anymore. Do you get CtV? Or no Cdn TV.?

Other than the opening ceremonies, is there seriously no US TV coverage outside of primetime? This seems a little ridiculous - I mean, the games are happening in a time zone 5+ hours ahead of America...exactly how much of a delay are we supposed to put on spoiler posts? Joenali, aren't you off work for the summer and able to watch TV pretty much whenever?
Or is it ok if the non-Americans just post spoilers for non-American results? I'm sure no one in the US cares if Simon Whitfield wins another medal for Canada, but I'd be pretty happy.
There is US coverage of the Olympics out of prime time, but they save the 'top' events for prime time coverage. So, during the day they will show a lot of prelims for racing events, badminton, table tennis, non-USA team sports, and the like. During prime time, they will show race finals, gymnastics, USA basketball, etc. TV coverage of the Olympics is designed to make money so they put the 'good stuff' in when most people will watch.
