I am not sure. DS's bday is at the end of October, so I think we are getting him the strider bike then so he can ride it before it gets to cold.
For us personally DS LOVES the go go smart wheels toys so I am debating on getting him the big huge crazy race track for his birthday or for Christmas.
DD loves her kitchen! Sad it was a fail for so many
The Strider bike, OTOH, was a huge fail.
Same here. Both of my kids play with the kitchen every day. DD has climbed onto her Strider bike once and has no interest in it...and she's the one who asked for it.
I'm sure Frozen toys will be hot because they are actually in stock most places now.
We have a household ipad but I'm thinking of getting my kids iPad minis. My oldest has electronic day at kindergarten and he was the only one with a vtech innotab. ?
Random question-do girls still play with dollhouses? At what age does that happen and any good recs? DD will be 3-maybe she is still young?
SDs used theirs quite a bit from ~3-4 until 7 or so. We got the one from Costco that's sized for Barbies. DD is fascinated by it, but she doesn't really play with dolls yet.
I think a scooter and a bike (and the obligatory helmets) will be the big ones here. Ages 4 and 2. We already have a play kitchen (thanks to MIL and her garage sale skills) and a zillion and one toys.
I'd love the Frozen castle for the girls, but we don't need it - we already have the Sofia talking castle, FP Little People talking castle, M&D wooden castle, and a FP dollhouse. Blech.

We got the FP "my first dollhouse" when DD1 turned 1. She still loves it. Now we have a couple castles, too, and both girls go nuts for the whole "playing house" concept. I can't imagine it'll get old for a while (ages 4 and 2 right now).
Get outta here! They're making these again? I don't have a daughter but I want one!
Are these really $40-50!? I'm looking at them on Amazon right now. DD1 would love a kitty.
I bet some of the stores selling through amazon are price-gouging because of the popularity. Toys r us has them listed for $24.99 but it's currently sold out. They'll obviously get more before Christmas so they can make their $$$!
I need to get rid of at least half of that damn food before I clean it up again.
Preach it sister! My fancy $200 play kitchen did not hold up well, looks like shit, and the play food gets chucked at me and the dog regularly. Bah humbug!

I do not regret getting the cheap plastic one. I'm going to give some of my excess pots, dishes, and food to a friend that just got a play kitchen.
I haven't read through so I'm not sure if this was mentioned. At least 3 of my coworkers have gotten some singing Elsa doll from Target and it's sold out pretty often, so the talk at work is that being a hot item!
