someone that you actually do know?
My neighbor and his wife are super sweet and I just love them and their 3 boys when I do get to visit with them. E the husband is a pediatrician and as clean cut as you can get. S the wife is a SAHM. When I first met her they seemed to fit together so well, being that she was really put together and clean cut too. I saw her the other day and thought " Looks like S got dreads" and sure enough she was putting the little one in the car tonight and has dreads down to the lower part of her back. If I didn't know both of them I would totally judge the clean cut doctor married to the lady with the dreads.

Dreads can be clean. A friend, who is AD Army and I'm not sure how they were in regs, had them for a few months and she kept them very clean. People would give her crap about how nasty they are and she go off on how "Actually.... I do x, y, z and they're very clean"

Oh her's are clean. That wasn't my point. My point was if I didn't know them I would be shocked that this woman with dread his wife. That's all.
How does someone "get" dreadlocks? I thought those had to be grown out over a course of years. Or are you talking about braids?
There are different ways. My sister had dreads for about 6 months. She went to a salon and it involved a crochet hook, a comb, and rubbing the hair between the person's palms. She went from normal to dreads in two hours and they really started looking good after a month. It was really hard to "un-dread" her hair. She had to get a lot cut off.
I'm pretty much going to judge you regardless if I know you or not. My brother is on his second marriage that has involved unplanned pregnancy and eloping. I'm a judgy mcjudgerson over here.

Dreads. And its only happened within the last few weeks I think. I would have to go with the assumption that she did something similar to LL's sister, because her hair was shoulder length the last time I saw her with normal hair which was a few weeks ago. And now with the dreads its at the bottom of her back.

Thanks for educating me, I didn't know you could do that!
I try really hard not to judge people based on appearance/clothing/hairstyle, but can be really hard not to, and I bet most of us do it to some extent without even realizing it.

My H and I were driving around and saw a girl standing on the corner begging for change. She had some nice cloths on, a nice smart phone in her hand, and an Ipod clipped to her hip. I didn't even bother to read what her little sign said. I was pretty judgy.. That was until I saw an article in the paper about these people going around asking for donations to help pay off an elderly ladies medical bills because she doesn't have insurance and can't do it herself.. WITH a picture of that girl. with her sign. standing on the corner.. Yep, I felt like an ASS.
