Hope it's OK if I join you all. Some of you will know me from TB. I have fraternal twin boys who will be 6 in January and just started Kindergarten. I was very active on TB's multiples board, especially during pregnancy and the first 2-3 years. I also post on the SN board over on TB. I was on GBCN for a bit when it first started but drifted away when the original multiples board died out and just now found my way back.
I have one typically developing twin; he is a high-energy, spirited, superhero-loving kid. My other guy has hypotonia, SPD, anxiety, seizure history, some metabolic issues, delays in gross motor, fine motor, and social skills, and is considered at risk for ASD. Severe tree nut allergy for good measure. He sees a devel pedi, neuro, metabolic specialist, allergist, has had a lot of OT and is currently getting PT and ST (for social skills/pragmatics). He also qualified to keep his EI for weekly family training and service coordination till he turns 6; she's been a great help. He loves animals, colors and drawing.
He had 2.5 years of private preschool and just started full-day Kindergarten at a public school. He was evaluated by our new school district last year and although he met criteria for ASD on their eval, they decided he didn't qualify for an IEP so he started K without one. We were anxious about that but so far so good. He seems to be thriving with the current mix of interventions and classroom; the ST for social skills is new and seems to be helping quite a bit.
