He was in the therapist's office and they let him call early-I was originally told 7 days, so it was a shock to hear from him. DS has been especially awful today, so I unsuccessfully held back tears as we spoke. I got to talk to him for about 10 minutes (after they finally took me off speaker).
He sounds really, really good. They're about to move him out of detox, so they'll stop waking him several times a night to take his BP and whatever else they check. He's anxious to move out of detox so he can start working out again. He says he has been following absolutely everything they ask, and doing the optional stuff too.
I miss him so, so much. As much as people say to take care of yourself also, it's hard. I'm off to buy some Unisom so maybe I can get a full night's sleep tonight.
What a great surprise! I bet his "good behavior" played a huge part in him getting to call early. Hopefully hearing his voice will give you peace of mind to let you sleep peacefully all night tonight.
My son is about the same age and is REALLY challenging at this age. Hang in there, there is nothing you could be doing differently that would change his behavior, so sometimes you just have to roll with it.
