I think overall it's a good name. However, I live in the land of the Buckeyes, and I know numerous OSU fans that have named their dogs Scarlett and Gray. Do UNLVers do that out there?

i think both names sound great together - i didn't evven think of it being 2 colors.... you don't say a full name that often - so i wouldn't worry too much about it.
one of my twins is "grayson" so i do love that name.

Honestly, my first thought was Ohio St and I am not even sure those are the official colors. Since your school has the same colors, I think people will assume you named your daughter after your school.
I am not sure I am a fan of the names together, but on their own I think they are fine.

No, people in Vegas don't follow UNLV like people in Ohio follow Ohio State. I actually know more die hard OSU fans in Las Vegas than UNLV fans. I know one person with a dog named Rebel, but no Scarlets or Grays.
It's NOT Ohio State. It's UNLV --University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
I went to UNLV and had no idea those were our colors.
Did you follow football or basketball? The fight song says the school colors but I get that most students wouldn't necessarily know the fight song unless they are big fans of the school's sports teams.

I like it. I also think middle names are barely relevant a couple months after the baby is born and the announcements go out. They're rarely used by anyone except close family, and usually that is when the kid is in trouble.
I knew a huge Republican who named his kid with a first and middle name that were very Republican, and then said they were both family names. (Oh, really? Barbara and Laura are both family names? OK.) People thought it was weird. The fact that yours are colors makes it weirder.
It's your kid, though. If you and your DH like it, that's what's important.
I like the name, but I actually really like the name Sylvie for a little girl. I think it could and should make a come back... but then again I wanted to name my first born Grover so you can take my opinion with a grain of salt

I vacillate between thinking it's cute and thinking it's cheesy. It also makes me think of Scarlett Johanson.
FWIW, we were going to name our DD Esther-Jane after our two grandmothers, but people pointed out that it sounded like "estrogen". We ended up using Esther as a middle name and going with something different for the first name.
