Hi there, an old Nestie and so glad to have found these boards!
DH and I are going on a cruise and we have a water activity that also includes some light hiking. He has a pair of open-toe Tevas, but he'd like something that is lightweight, comfortable where he can do some light hiking and still get the shoes wet.
I have a pair of Keen Newports, and he's looking for something similar (for both wet/dry conditions, closed toe but still "airy").

DH has a pair of Columbia ones. They cover the entire foot, fit tighter, have holes in the soles for draining, bungee laces, have mesh panels, and are lightweight. I think they were made to be a hiking friendly water shoe and act as a shoes that doesn't require socks. They were pretty reasonable at the Outlet.

Try Zappos - just type "Water Shoes" in the search and pick Men's. Merrell and Solomon have some that are like regular shoes, but with "holes". My H has some similar to these and he loves them: www.zappos.com/merrell-waterpro-manistee-india-ink-grey
