How hard is it to do Whole 30 while you are travelling? I'm mentally committed to doing the program, and I'd like to go ahead with it, but I have to go out of town for what would be week 2 or 3. My other option is to wait until Jan. 1, but I'm excited and want to do it now.
It's definitely a challenge, but doable. It also depends on where you're going. If you're going to a major city with a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's and plenty of dining out options, it can absolutely be done. If you're going to a podunk country town, maybe not so much. You can also pack things like compliant jerky, cans of tuna/salmon, nuts, etc to get you through.

The hotel is in the DC "area", but not really. It's not on the metro line, so in my world it doesn't count as being in DC. But that's a great suggestion on the things to pack, and I'll check and see about the grocery stores. On the plus side, its an environmental conference, so nobody blinks an eye if you bring your own food or have very specific dietary requests.
I was on the road all of last week + the first part of this week and survived, but barely. I didn't have to fly this time, so that helped significantly.
- I prepped a lot of snacks and put them in individual baggies (green peppers, grapes, strawberries, etc.)
- I bought 2 packs of the individually packaged unsweetened applesauce. Mott's has several flavors that are Whole-30 compliant
- I made a big bag of monkey munch to snack on (raw cashews, raisins, toasted coconut, freeze dried fruit)
- When dining out I stuck to grilled chicken with a vegetable
- I ate several salads w/ no dressing which weren't very good, but in a social setting it's the best I could do.
- Ordered club soda with lime when we were out with clients for drinks. Also, drank a lot of hot tea when we were with clients during the day who wanted snacks.
