After a year and a half of searching we finally found the perfect house on Friday, saw it Saturday, and had an offer in by Saturday night. It felt weird jumping on it so fast, but we just knew it was right. Perfect area, perfect sized house, perfect yard. I didn't mention anything here (or to anyone for that matter) because I didn't want to jinx it. Well, I just received the call from our realtor that they decided to accept one of the FOUR cash offers they received. I'm really bummed. Guess our crappy market is starting to turn around, I just hope it doesn't happen too fast.
Just wanted to vent my frustation and sadness. Guess it's back to the drawing board!!
Good luck on house #3! I feel like we are being really picky, but I'd rather wait and find the perfect house than worry about potential price increases. I agree--it will come along at some point, we just have to be patient!

I feel for you! We had four houses not work out until we found the house we ended up buying. The roller coaster part of it sucks! Hope you find your house soon!
Ugh, I feel you. We saw what looked to be like the perfect house today, until we found out the extent of the structural damage. Literally nothing on the market we even want to see right now. So frustrating to have the money but not the opportunity. The Vegas market is freaking killing me.

We are right there with you. If something is actually what we want, then lots of others want it too. And if it's really awesome, there are multiple cash offers - and I live in hcol! People are freaking out and getting desperate, making this a sellers market. If we weren't being kicked out in two months I would wait this shit out.

That's how we are, too. We've seen 2 houses in a year and a half. I have others that I kinda like, but nothing worth going to see IMO. I'm just surprised that at this price point we have people coming in with cash offers, and in this case 4 people! The good news is that we aren't in a rush. The bad news is that I'm just an inpatient person in general!
Are you still looking in the same area we talked about, like near the RBA and SE neighborhoods?
I remember that when we bought our first house back in 2007. It was a pain and so frustrating because there were multiple offers on all the houses. But it'll work out!
I was thankful that the house we are buying now didn't have that issue. I would have been devastated

We've put in an offer and it's probably not going to happen because the sellers are someone's estate (i.e. 3 sons!), so I think we're moving on. It took forever just to get a response on our first offer.
In our neighborhood, prices are still on the low side, but there are so few houses listed right now that when people list their house it gets snatched up really quickly. DH and I would like more space, but it's not an emergency. I feel like you have to be VERY on top of things to buy in our neighborhood right now.

Yea, I'm not ready to give up on the McNeil Ranch dream yet Although, Nate really likes the area up near DI and Tenaya.
