I had my twins Saturday at 33 weeks - vaginal birth. How was your recovery? I feel worse now then I did while I was in the hospital. They're in the nicu and I KNOW I'm not getting my water in. I'm trying though. But my back is killing me. Not a sharp pain but just hurts and my abdomen. I assume this is all normal? Taking motrin every 8 hours but I just feel uncomfortable. How long did it take you to feel somewhat normal?
I had a c section with a good recovery so I don't have much advice. I would definitely call your dr if it doesn't get better soon. Congratulations on your babies! Hopefully they are doing well and their NICU stay will be short. Take care of yourself, your babies have drs and nurses helping them get strong enough to come home.

when i was post partum with DD i had a lot of menstrual type cramping, from my ute going back to its normal size. I think that is normal. Is it possible you are trying to do too much since the babies are still in the NICU? Make sure you rest, and eat, and drink your water!!
Congrats!! I don't think I knew you had the babies.
I had a very easy recovery after my twins. They were a VBAC so I think because it was so much easier than my c section with my son I didn't notice it as much. I definitely pushed myself too hard though and passed a grapefruit sized clot one week pp. So take the time to allow yourself to heal. Take the motrin and try to rest as much as possible. Other than the clot, I felt really good a week out. But everyone is different. Your body has been through a lot and with babies in the NICU it will be hard I'm sure.
I had a csection, but my twins were in the NICU as well. I had a pretty easy recovery, but there were a few days when it finally got home and sat down I felt like crap. Be easy on yourself. Sit while your in the NICU if you can. Make sure you're eating and drinking a ton. I hope your babies have a quick stay. It felt like forever and a day for us, but looking back it was just a blimp on the radar.
I can't help at all with your recovery (mine were an easy c-section), but congratulations on the birth!!! The NICU is an intense and stressful place, but like narwhal said I think it's very common for it to feel like forever in the moment and be such a short moment in time in retrospect.
If you need anything or have any questions please feel free to ask. My girls were 34 weeks, but B was IUGR - so not too far off from 33 weekers.
Thanx ladies. I'm feeling tons better. I think I pushed too hard when I got released so now try not to stand as much in the nicu. My body just need time.
My boys were 33 weekers as well. I definitely didn't rest as much as I should have ( c-section but with some BP issues as well) even though all I did was go to the NICU and sit there 12 hours + a day. I didn't realize how much energy just doing that took. I didn't feel great for a long time. Even after the boys came home over a month later.
My advice is to relax as much as you can right now. I hope the babies have a short smooth NICU stay
