The Tiny Tyrant was going to be Thomas (perfect since we have had the costume for a year now), but has just started making noise about being The Incredibles. Which one? He can't say. I'm now looking at Flash costumes. :/

I sew, so I make my nieces costumes. The 4 year old picked "a bad witch" for what she wanted to be. I basically copied this costume but used just purple, black, and lime. I even found the same little hat, sewed it to a headband and embellished wth purple and black feathers. It turned out adorable.
Also made a broom like this, but just black tulle and some purple feather detail. Added glow in the dark stars to the broomstick.
And then made a little Dorothy costume for the one year old similar to this.

Babycakes wants to be "a minecraft". Not entirely sure how I think I'm going to pull this off since there is no such thing as a minecraft.
Since this is the Halloween thread, can I tell the creepy thing he said last night?
Him: I need to be a different boy Me: you don't want to be you anymore? Him: I need a different vestibule Me: I'm sorry, did you say new vestibule? Him: it's time to find a different boy.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

Abigail will be Izzy from Jake and the Neverland Pirates
Anna is going as a fairy, i.e., the provider of Izzy's pizie dust :-)
I am going to attempt to dress priate-y without spending money on a costume, DH may or may not be Jake, and my FIL has agreed to come along with us dressed as Mr. Smee.
i made my son a Jake costume a few years ago... best internet suggestion ever: for the jacket, just get a plain navy blue tee shirt (or take one over from your closet, turn it inside out, whatever whatever.... cut it down the front for the jacket shape... and use yellow duct tape to make the yellow trim and buttons.
the guy who suggested it online was an animator, and said it would make the colors pop like an animation, and he was spot on. plus: easy!
We're going cliche and Abby is Elsa and Caleb is Olaf, provided I can finish the costume and get it on him. Every time he looks at it or we ask him about it, he says no.
While I was making it, Abby kept asking me if I could make it so snowflakes came out of her hands. She has high hopes, that one.
OMG that looks so much easier than what I was going to attempt! Thanks!
I pretty much did this for A last year. I was on ML, so I spent more time on it than I would have otherwise (details like the double spikes, spots, and claws could easily be skipped and make it waaaay faster/easier), but I managed to get it done caring for a newborn while we all had bronchitis from hell. All the details are felt, so no hemming. I measured exactly nothing and just kind of eyeballed it all and used household objects for templates where needed (ie eyes). I wasn't sure if he needed 18mo or 2t pants, so I bought both and used the other one for the tail.
Man I loved that costume. If J doesn't fit into the parrot, maybe I'll pull it out again. ETA: A is going as a pirate, mainly because he's super cute when he says "arrrrggg", and also Carl and I have pirate stuff from last year's Pirate Easter. Hopefully J fits into A's old parrot costume. And @majorwife I am super stoked you sold the Doc Brown idea. Cannot wait.

DD is going to be Hermione Granger. She's going to be great at it, as she has the hair naturally, and she's also naturally pretty bossy. She wears black skirts, tights, white shirts and black sweaters as part of her school uniform. I bought a tie I'm modifying into Gryffindor colors, I'm knitting her a scarf, and made her a wand. Found a Gryffindor robe at a thrift store, and walla, done and done.
wand, baby:
DS is going to be a pirate. He loves pirates, so it's all good. Got him the fully awesome pirate costume from Costco. His birthday party is going to be the day after Halloween, and he wanted a pirate theme and to wear his pirate costume. Who am I to tell him no?

I'm jealous of the parents whose toddlers let them pick the costumes. I got one, one glorious halloween where I got my way. Oh Halloween 2012 where my 10 month old was a suffragette how I love thee.
DD2 (6) was going to be cruella deville, but the costume has yet to arrive (ordered 3 weeks ago). So if it doesn't come, she wants to be a cowgirl. I really haven't found a kids costume that I like yet...
DD3 (4) is going to be the wicked witch of the west
I hope DD2's costume shows up, but if not... here's an idea

WHAT
Whoa - did his head spin around after that? Freaky.
Can you just draw pixelated makeup on babycakes with different tones of foundation?
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
My kids are going to be Jake and Izzy from Jake and the Neverland pirates -they've seen the show only a handful of times so it's really out of left field but when I googled they're simple costumes so I'm on board.

BabyLiu has wanted to be Robin since Nov 1st of 2013. I worked around her this year.

OMG!
Did you look under the bed for the other boy?
No, but I'm strongly considering locking his bedroom from te outside.

Well, it helps that Caleb has really no idea what Halloween is yet and doesn't care too much about playing dress up. Of course, that likely will be my downfall, because there's a good chance he won't wear the costume anyway. At home, the only thing he's really enjoyed dressing up in is his sister's Cinderella dress.

DS wants to be R2D2. There is not a costume to be found in his size anywhere on the internet and I do not sew or craft. Needless to say, I am in a Pinterest panic.

Can you paint a box and give him a grey beanie? I know R2D2 is more conical shaped and you could probably smooth out the corners if you were determined.
