Do you see what you people have done to me?
Last night I timed myself making Abigail's PB&J for school today.
It took me 2 minutes and 40 seconds. Including putting away all of the stuff (bread, jar of PB, jam, knife in dishwasher).
So, I think our great debate over whether an Uncrustables saves time is not, in fact, a debate over whether an Uncrustables saves time. It's whether you consider 2 minutes and 40 seconds an important amount of time to save :-)
(For the record, I don't use them, but I fully support saving any amount of time, no matter how small! I'm also not trying to start Uncrustablegate Part 2, I just had to share because if I told DH I timed myself making a sandwich, he'd think I was nuts.)
Sounds about right. The good thing is when making multiples the time per sandwich goes down.
I really feel like it's all about what someone values. One person might value time more and use uncrustables, one person might value money more and not use them, one person might value something else more and use them or not. But one persons values will never be exactly the same as anyone else's values.
I do love that you actually timed yourself though.
Well, I stopped making DD's lunch once I realized the baby reliably sleeps around the same time I was waking up to prep her sandwich. And making it the night before just didn't happen between making dinner and getting both kids to bed. S, kudos to you for finding 2 minutes and 40 seconds!
Considering I'm thinking about leaving my phone unlocked and making sure the apps I use the most are one tap away instead of two, saving 2:40 in the morning sounds pretty good.
