Chip time was 1:53:44! What?! That's a 25 minute PR over my 2009 self and a 36 minute improvement over last year at Nike SF! The hills were tough bitches, but I was tougher
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I feel like a badass for doing my first trail race. It was a 12k through woods and farms with mud, obstacles including rope climbs, log walls, belly crawls through a creek bed, scaling a muddy small waterfall and swimming across a pond. Did I mention it was 40 degrees out? I had a blast while I was running, but learned many lessons about pre and post race extra clothes needs. I froze standing around.
I did okay! I didn't reach my goal time; I was off by a little over a minute. The wind was terrible and really held me back. Since it was a loop, I hit the wind patch twice. No Bueno! It's okay. I got to see my family, got a kick ass race shirt AND my Aunt bought me yummy food after. I call that a win!
Amazing job everyone! No racing for me this weekend, I couldn't find a 5k close and I ended up having to work yesterday anyway. I'm loving all these AWs though!
I got my sub 2 HM (1:53:54) so I'm pleased as punch. bluedaisyus killed it today too!
I have no doubt nichelobe and sassystace did too, I just looked up bluedaisys results bc I know her name
Yep, I killed it in my opinion!! Finished in 4:34, not too shabby for my first full. I was going to be happy with under 5 hrs and to finish with a smile. But man, marathons are definitely a different beast than half marathons. Learned that lesson today! My legs are sooo sore.
I'm going to say I killed it because I finished. I was doing well, keeping a good pace, but my hip took an injury at mile 17 and that was the end of my pace goals. I hobbled the rest of the way, but I finished, dammit. I really really didn't know if I would. That said, I'm totally proud of myself. I wanted sub 5, secretly hoping for 4:45, and I got 5:19. Evs, I'm a marathoner!

So sorry about your hip. It was so hard to finish period, I can't imagine. It takes real fight to finish through injury. I hope you can heal up quickly and it isn't anything long lasting. But hey, CONGRATS MARATHONER!

I don't like the hip thing, but I like your attitude & I love the fact that you're a marathoner. 9 times out of 10, the second marathin is about redemption. LOL The first is all about survival when your body says, "Holymotherofgod, wtf is happening?!" Congrats!!
sassystace, awesome job!! I'm so happy that you had a great race!
