Hardwood floors and cat hair

Please help me!  I moved in a new house with mostly dark hardwood floors.  The cat hair is making me insane.  One of the cats has long hair.  When I try to sweep the hair goes flying around.  I've tried to vacuum and I he air from the vacuum blows the hair around.  And it doesn't seem to pick much up either.  It's a cheapo vacuum.

one person suggested the dyson animal vacuum.  Please help me!!

Dry Swiffer. It picks up the hair versus just moving it around.

I have 2 dogs that shed like crazy and the dry Swiffer makes all the difference in between the big floor cleanings we do once a week (which is Swiffer twice, then vacuum the baseboards, then use Bona.

I use a plain ol' dust mop. Ceder-O? Something like that. I have 2 pads so I can switch them out and have 1 in the laundry and 1 clean pretty much all the time. I have to do it at least every other day. In July we gave one cat a lion cut and it really decreased the amount of hair flying around.
