So, I will likely not be around much, if at all, for the next 2 months.
We're launching one website tomorrow afternoon. We're launching 3 websites in early October.
I'm project manager, managing the internal team plus two external vendors. Budget, timeline, communication to the mucky-mucks (president, CFO, etc.) and internal community, etc. are all my responsibility.
I'm also director of web communications, so responsible for the review and gathering of content (at present count, over 1000 pages of just "plain text" content. not including any PDFs, images, video, online forms, etc.). And also the training of all our editors (present count - 47) and administrators (present count - 17). It's an entirely new version of our CMS, so everyone has to be re-trained (starting with myself!).
AND I'm the coding "team" for these sites. Which means I have to take all the design deliverables and turn them into code. For everything. For all 3 sites.
We're going live with a new ERPish system Wednesday. Our IT director is managing the project in his spare time. I think he might off himself by Wednesday. Not a fun job.

Yeah, it's relatively crazy. Not only are we re-designing and re-launching our 4 top web sites (public, internal, library and ois) but we're also going thru a brand refresh. Which means new logo, new approach, new...everything. It's, uh, a lot. And it all launches at once. Whee!
I was up from 1am to, well, I'm not sure... coding in my head. Which, on the one hand sucked cause I'm exhausted, but on the other I solved a couple of programming/development issues.
Tomorrow we have our first monthly Sprint meeting. Have you ever tried teaching comm/marketing people Agile software development and project management? They're all confused by this. But it's the only way we'll get thru this project.
I'm taking a brief break now waiting for some FTP to finish up on another site before I dig into some code. I'm all hyped up on coffee.
