Goodness, how long has this board been here?! I just stumbled on it tonight! I'm recently "officially" diagnosed with panic and health anxiety and voluntarily went inpatient at the end of August after multiple panic attacks I couldn't seem to recover from. I tried to get an appointment with a psychiatrist, but none were available (even just paying $$ out if pocket and not using insurance), so that's pretty much why I decided to check myself into the hospital. I went to a partial hospitalization when I was discharged and then to IOP which was such a huge help.
It's been about 2 weeks since IOP ended and I've had a bad couple of days. My everyday meds (20 mg celexa) don't seem to be working and I hate taking the as needed meds (1 mg klonopin) because it makes me useless. I just really miss the people from group and the support they gave. I have lots of family who support me, but they just don't get it. Just a little background, been married for almost 8 years, DH has been in remission from non - Hodgkins lymphoma for about a year, l have 3 daughters (22, 6, 4) and a 4 y/o grandson. And if you made it this far, I owe you cookies
Welcome hopefully you will find a good med and therapy combo soon, this is a quiet board but there are always people checking in for support so don't be shy
Welcome to Recovery No wonder your anxiety went through the roof. This is definitely a place where you can vent, find support, and support others. Like a PP said, sometimes this board can be pretty quiet, but everyone has been through difficulties and struggles that "normals" just don't understand.
Black Lavender - I am taking 20mg Lexapro and 30mg Buspiron daily (and Xanax as needed). I have noticed that major changes in my life still bring peaks and valleys to my moods. It might be that you're not responding to the Celexa as you did in IOP because you're now facing a different routine and different daily challenges. It could be that you just need to get into your new routine for a couple of weeks, and the Celexa will start helping again.
