Day 2. 4 meals down, and life has not yet ended Sadly, re: fall flavors (and for Whole 30 success) I either suck at roasting squash or I just don't like plain squash as much as I wish I did. I like squash/carrot/ginger soup a lot and like squash in things, but I've tried roasting two types of squash with olive oil, salt and pepper, and I haven't loved either.
I'm enjoying the cranberry/apple cider stuff. I made turkey cutlets with an apple cider/cranberry sauce that was yummy!
I have never in my life eaten cranberry sauce straight out of a can. Nope, not me.
I LURRRRRRRVE cranberry.
I realize now that my post was misleading. I made a sauce from dried cranberries. I've never actually had the traditional cranberry sauce of which you speak.
I'm several days post plan but sticking to eating mostly on plan foods. My splurge this weekend was a big cinnamon bun from a bakery at pike place market. It was the first refined sugar and wheat that I've had in over a month and it was worth every calorie. Lol. I felt fine afterwards too. I really love apple things in the fall. This weekend I made an apple and apple cider braised pork shoulder roast and it was off the hook. Mmm. My SIL made baked pear halves for dessert with cinnamon honey an walnuts. A great healthy dessert.
Honey crisp apples are back in season. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
On a side note, one of my students brought the most amazing smelling chocolate cupcakes to her comps defense today. That hour was the most torturous of all 14 days so far. They smelled SO GOOD.

Oh, I totally got that. I was just tangentially professing my love for gelatinous canned cranberry sauce
