So my kiddos are both super snotty and congested and have an occassional wet cough. But, they are acting fine otherwise. My allergies are acting up too (although I'm not as congested as they are). So they may or may not have colds.
My question is, can I give N benedryl? I have been giving G some at bedtime the last 2 nights because he was so snotty and it seems to help him sleep better because he's not sniffling and coughing all night. I am assuming it will put her to sleep like it does for G, so I would only give it to her before nap and bed. I think she is below the recommended age, but I do know the dose forr her weight.

Also if you get the ok don't try it right before bed. On younger kids it can have the opposite effect. It speeds my dd up instead of making her drowsy.

Oh good lord that sounds terrible. Lol. I guess I better be responsible and call. I do know the dose because I asked before our trip this summer just in case, maybe I'll give it to her now and if it does make her sleepy she can just have an early nap

Omg this. Z had the same symptoms once. Gave her some Benadryl & she went bonkers. Super crazy, bouncing off the walls
Yep DS2 has had benadryl a few times already for various things he is 19 months. It is a much smaller dose. I think 1.25 ml? It has the opposite affect on him as well and never makes him sleep.

Thankfully we gave it to her right before nap time. Hopefully it makes your dd sleepy.

I would call too. I just wanted to add that Zarbees (if you can get her to take it) works really well with coughs. My Natalie hates it now but I can get her to drink it in hot tea with a little cream. The last time she had a cold it helped her cough a great deal.

Oh yes we just tried Zarbees for the first time and it worked wonders for Jack! Our pedi recommended it, actually.
