We joke about putting DS in Irish step classes so he can meet the ladies. But, I am kind of thinking I might do it for real. Walking will have to come first I suppose.....
I like Aisling too.
Shorti is good! My abs have apparently give up this fight early, so i look about 4 weeks further along than I am. I get another peek in there in 3 weeks so we'll see how (s)he's cooking. Thanks for asking
And yeah, I imagine walking might need to come before dancing. But it's probably a fantastic way to meet cute little irish girls.
A list of my favorite girl names in no particular order (aka, not giving away our girl name ):
Lucy Hazel Henrietta (obviously this is NOT a name I will use for Henry's little sis haha) Ruby Penelope (septimus - I also love the nn poppy for this one) Wren Imogene Margaret with more offbeat nns like Maisie or Daisy
My sis and I have decided I like old fashioned English woodland whimiscal girls names lol. Im guessing you wont like these though... Im very much not into unisex names etc. And as the wife of a Ryan I just HAVE to say... please dont name your daughter Ryan!!!!
Ha! No worries. My husband does not get the whole unisex name thing. According to him, we are having a girl why wouldn't we give her a definitive girl name!

LOL...both of my top two girls names are on that list. guess I'm an old lady name kinda girl.
Claire and Kathleen (Or Kathryn) are my top two (three).
MH is into some kinda out there more Gaelic style names, which I've vetoed for pronouciation issues.
Aoife and Aisling?
Hey, get her into Irish dance, and then your whole social group will be able to pronounce them. I knew more strangely named Gaelic children when I was a competitive Irish dancer.
I love Aisling. I knew a girl named Aisling Rose, once, who had a sister named Margaret Mary.
Unfortunately, my husband can't even remember how to pronounce our vet's name, which is Siobhan.

Are you having a girl?!
maybe! 50% chance
We are team green, but Im only 14 weeks anyhow. I should get my ticker up here. Those are just my girls names I love. I could name a million girls!
We currently are at an impasse for a boy name though. And because I actually really think it is a girl I havent been trying to get one picked.
Right now I like Charles (charlie) and Oliver. DH likes Samuel (sam). Which is a perfectly nice name which I do like... just dont think it is my kid. Sigh. Open to other boy ideas that fit wtih henry (and wiht the girls style I like too, since we plan on more than 2 kids).
OMG, we are name twins with Margaret nn Maisie/Maisy!
And I am also the wife of a Ryan. IMO, I think a girl Ryan has to be extremely cute and feminine all her life, or she will have issues. I knew a very southern female Ryan, and it worked for her. But on anyone not absolutely adorable and girly, it would be tough. Like I could not be a girl Ryan. I'm feminine and all, but not THAT feminine.
Totally agree, and for boys names on girls in general. They work when said girl is gorgeous (see: james king) but James on a dumpy girl, someone kinda unfeminine or ugly or something? Not nice. Plus that is how we lose perfectly good boy names over time.
I do kinda love girly names with boy nicknames. Best of both worlds, because if you're a cool, pretty girl there is something kinda awesome about a "boy" name.
Like Alexandria (Alex), Danielle (Dani) or Samantha (Sam).
Of course all three of those are names of friends of mine, so I don't really want to use any of them. Especially Dani - bitch ditched my wedding and never apologized. (we're no longer friends if you couldn't tell)
ETA: Also, Charlotte (Charlie) - that one is my neice. So again, not on my list.
Side note: Name associations are frustrating. I've always loved the name Rebecca, until my mom had to go and date one, and then they broke up in a awful messy proccess. Can't really use that one, now can I?

heyjude-- I LOVE all of your Von Trapp names. Please to begin a family singing group.
DH has a unisex name and kinda hates it. I think it's a beautiful name for a boy or a girl, but I can see how boys might have it even harder with a "girl name" than girls with a "boy name." For that reason, I think we'll stick to strictly gender-specific names.
My girl favorites are Madeline, Mallory and Natalie.

Sadie was almost Nora, and I'd have gone with Ada Joy if it was up to me. I found I prefer old lady names, flower/plant names, or a combination :-). Ruby, Pearl, Hazel, Laurel, Rose, Eleanor, Esther, Marigold, Iris, Hope, Violet, etc.
Oliver is one of our top boy names! The other is Miles.
My nephew is Henry, and his little brother is Alexander. You could just go with William so that you have the two English princes.
My sister has dibs on william (I know I know, but we live 5 min apart and work together and her DH is a Jr so it is set in stone).
I love Clara and Farah but they sound silly with our lastname.
I think Clara is okay with your last name, but for some reason, Farrah does not sound good with it.
Hey, I like Juliette, which is a bit rhymey with our last name. I still think it sounds good.
It sounds good in like a movie or Colonial sort of way. It sort of doesn't pass the JOP test though. I can't imagine her having an important job and having it as a name, if that makes sense. Its too "sing songy" or something.
If we lived on a tropical island I'd name DD Luenna (loo-enna) or Owenna. Stupid society!!
My name list right now (if I were to have another baby) would be: Adele Caroline Penelope Jane Greta Greer Amelia Juliet Stella Emmeline Lila Francesca
I am starting to feel like a dummy, but how do you pronounce Saoirse?
Seer-sha. I have a friend who named her daughter that. I'm not a huge fan.
Huh, I always (wrongly apparenly) thought it was Sor-sha. Like from Willow. But I just checked and apparently that character was actually listed as Sorsha. Learn new things every day.

Haven't read the responses, but forgive me if these have been said. Amelia Jane Ellis (we loved this, but our niece is an Ella) Kate Emmaline Collette Felicity Charlotte Poppy (we would use this a middle name, we're not daring enough to make it a first name)
Oh, forgot to add that my daughter is Amelia Jane.
We are probably going to have daughters who hate us if we end up with a girl. We like old Irish lady names like: Claire Kathleen Rose Lucy Margaret (nn Maggie or Peggy) Helen
I love Naomi but it doesn't go with DH's last name. Natalie, Bryn, Louise and Annette are names I like too.
LOL...both of my top two girls names are on that list. guess I'm an old lady name kinda girl.

Claire is my top favorite right now. We are still about a year out from TTC, but I love that name.
