Birth order? Whoever "looks" like a particular name?
Not that we've picked out names yet but I keep wondering about this. Actually one of the boys has a name and the other poor poodle doesn't not yet but I don't know which one is going to be which name yet.
We had a boy name picked out before I even got pregnant - we decided to give it to whichever boy was born first since it was the first name we had picked out. Not particularly exciting reasoning, I know.
We had one boy name picked out first and agreed baby B got it because the name, Matthew, means gift from God. Our first u/s we were told there was one baby. The second u/s was where we found out we were having twins and we felt baby b was our gift. Turns our our baby a name meant gift of The Lord so they both meant the same thing. We didn't realize that until days before their birth when a nun at the hospital where I was on bedrest was chatting with me and told me. We had named him after my grandfather.
Natalia is H's grandmother's name, Olivia is just a random name, so we wanted DD1 to be Natalia. However, when they were still inside we were referring to Baby A as Natalia so this was a huge dilemma for H. Baby A was Natalia, but he was worried that Baby A wouldn't come out first (I had a c/s) because he really wanted the oldest to be Natalia. He actually asked the doctor to make sure she took Baby A out first, lol. Baby A did come out first and all was well, but he was really concerned about it.

We had one name picked out, but kept going back and forth between two other names. Once we finally decided on the names, we said we would wait to see the babies to make sure those names fit.
Well, I started thinking of Baby A as L and Baby B as H, and it just kind of stuck. Like cayl's husband I was really worried the Dr was going to mess up who was Baby A and who was Baby B because they already had names in my mind. Luckily everything was fine.

Our girls' middle names are their grandmother's maiden names. In utero, we gave Baby B the Irish name, because she was the spunkier of the two. Like the others, I was very concerned about them coming out in the right order (Emergency C-section) so we wouldn't mix up their names. Turns out they are complete opposites, and have the physical traits for the grandmothers they were named for. To the point where we would have actually reversed the names once they were here if we had named them the other way around, because it would have been weird for them to have the name from the "other" family. I don't know if that makes sense, LOL.
We decided to wait until they were born and see what name fit except DH named them right after they were born before I could really see them-ugh! He picked correctly though

We had the names picked out and were going to wait until they were born. Towards the end of the pregnancy, I started feeling that Baby A should be Alexander and Baby B should be Andrew. Turned out that DH felt the same way so we were all set.
Thanks y'all, these are great stories! The name that we have is the name I've picked and sometimes I feel like that's baby A's name. But I had an agreement with H that he could name the "next baby" (before we found out we were having twins) so I wonder if we should name the first baby out the name that H picks.
We're doing Iranian first names but the name I picked is not overtly Middle eastern sounding. My H (American white guy) is super concerned that some of the names I've suggested for the other baby sound like names on the "no fly" list so I joked that the one that looks more "ethnic" gets the less ethnic sounding name and vice versa, just to balance things out, lol. But really, my H is starting to annoy me
The girls were born at 1141 and 1152pm and we named them around 630 the following morning. I looked at them and said she looks like K and she looks like E.
One has my mother's first name and the other my sister's middle name and later we realized I had appropriately named twin A after my mom and twin B after my sister (by age) As they have grown E also acts a lot like my sister did as a baby, loud schreeching, more particular than K etc. so it has been funny to see they were appropriately named.
My Dad and his first wife said they just randomly named my twin brothers Alex.and.er and Nich.ol.as. He said he doesn't remember how they picked which one got which name but he does remember that if they had been girls they would have been Alexandra and Nicole lol. They didn't find out they were having twins until his wife was overdue and they did an xray. Not much time to prepare!
Eta: we were also team green so we had a lot of names to decide upon. By the time they were born we sort of just decided because we were exhausted lol

This for us as well. We liked baby A's name for years and debated on baby B's for a while. One day after we were pretty sure of the name I "asked" the babies what names they liked and I just got the vibe baby A wanted to be J and baby B wanted to be C, so that was that. We were going to meet them first, but when the nurse asked me their names before they were born, I knew who was who. We didn't check to see if baby A was taken first during my c-section, but he was the bigger baby during all the ultrasounds and was the bigger one at bigger at birth, so I think (hope) we got the correct! Haha.
My baby A got the first name we agreed on. Our baby B's name also means "gift" so I liked that too, but really it was more of a first come first served deal. I also wanted their names to sound natural when said together and saying B + A's name sounds weirder than A+ B's.
H named one and I named the other. Henry ( my name pick) moved around nonstop like I do and Jack ( H's name pick) was a lot more subdued like H is.
I knew where they were positioned and always referred to the baby on the left as Jack since he acted like H. Henry also was IUGR so we knew who was who when they were born.
We officially named them the day after they were born and I was able to see them in the NICU.
OK, so we decided on names and we decided to stick with the plan that H got to name "the next baby" so the name he's picked out will go to Baby A and the name I have picked out goes to Baby B.
