I've been applying to new jobs off and on for months now and got asked for an interview next week! I'm slightly freaking out in that I haven't interviewed in over a year - and that job was with an acquaintance so it didn't really feel like a job interview - so really almost 8 years since my last full on, you are a stranger getting to know me interview! The job is similar to what I do now, only on a bigger scale - events/communications/marketing - for a local organization. Chances are the person I'm interviewing with knows my current boss, which makes me very nervous, but I'm hoping he will be discreet.
Anyway, give me your interview tips. What to wear. What to ask. What to say. Anything to get me pumped up for Tuesday! TIA!
I like wearing a dress, suit jacket and comfortable heels.
I always like to throughly review the company's website and the organization structure. I like to ask questions about the organization that isn't on the website.
I also like to look up the organization on Glass Door's website.
Oh and as a refresher for myself I like to list recent projects and accomplishments so they were already top of mind.
I wore a blazer but not a suit, just because I felt more myself.
I just went though the interview process and the ladies on mm were really helpful. I'd prep for the expected questions: how do you handle conflict? What are your weaknesses?
Smile a lot, make eye contact. I sent a thank you note later that day.
