Save the McNasty jokes, I need to talk about life coaching. Ha.
In the last 6 months, five friends have approached me about strategic planning and coaching for them. Three of them are women entrepreneurs who need(ed) practical guidance on business planning, profit forecasting and, overall encouragement and research about how to equip themselves to take their next steps. The other two need(ed) more practical, hands-on help with tools to help them in time-management, goal setting and accomplishment and similar areas.
I'm happy to help, but last night, someone mentioned trying to turn this into a gig. That's crazy talk, right? I mean, mainly because I am a 30-something, stay-at-home-mom. My credibility isn't exactly sky high, I'd think, despite my uber confidence and knack for leadership. I mean, I wouldn't hire me. But then, I wouldn't even ask me for advice in the first place. Ha. I figure there's some Wharton grad out there who can charge $400/hr for this just fine.
So, is this a crazy thing? It is, right? Make fun if you need to; I totally get it. ;-p
Not nuts. I consult/write for a living and have no real credentials. All you need is experience! Plus since you are a SAHM anyway, it isn't (I'm assuming here) absolutely necessary that you make a million bucks right from the start.
I am actually looking for someone to help me begin a business concept I have. I have no clue where to start and would love to have someone with business/entrepreneurship experience to help me.
While I would pay for it, I was kind of hoping for more of a mentor/mentee relationship.
Not crazy. We just had a great business coach speak at an event we hosted. She hadn't been to any fancy life coaching school...she just got experience. Which you have if you have already had 4 clients.
Sure, you aren't going to be charging Tony Robbins rates, but that doesn't mean you can't do it.

Total side note, but my friend's little bro just finished a 12-year stint working for him and said he is phenomenal and genuine and amazing! And this was *after* he quit, so I figured it was legit. Heh.
Thanks, all, for the input! Definitely something to think about!
