That sucks! Luckily we didn't need to do that since we still had access to the corporate apartment we stayed in. You're forwarding from where you stay now to the apartment you rented?
If your company has paid to relocate you and they were paying for temporary accommodations while you house hunted - why not ask them if you can expense it?
We moved this summer and I'm about to extend our mail forwarding and pay the fees. Really, it's my problem - I cannot be bothered to make a list of every single place that has our address and then call and change it.

Sorry @rock-n-Voll it probably is just annoying thing. All the little expenses to transfer to your new place add up.
@rock-n-Voll I remember how those expenses added up for the international move. Felt like there were a few extras in the UK compared to Canada like utility deposits (one was £250!) and rental agent fees.
