When I was a college freshman...because for the next 2 weeks we are living it up dorm style
Our temp housing is in the graduate housing building so not quite as bad as being in a freshman dorm but we do have 2 twin beds, lol. At least we have our own bathroom and full kitchen! But we realized last night after we got here there is no light in the living area, something neither of us even thought about. We went to CVS and bought a light but got back and discovered that to put the batteries in you have to unscrew the plate and we don't have a screwdriver. Fail.
Anyway, we are moved in and getting everything set up. We will really appreciate our apartment once we're able to move in there!

Ha! That has to be weird! Tell them you want a food plan too!
When I went to Florida last weekend, I went in my friend'a little sis's sorority house. When I went up in her room, I seriously thought "how do people handle this little space" as if I'd never done it. Party of old, right here.

We totally thought about the food plan, lol. That would be sweet.

I would have had a much better time in the dorms if I had a kitchen and own bathroom, haha. They had apartment style ones on my campus, but they were for upper classmen and I moved out of the dorms after my freshman year. It was a dry campus, and that was just no fun Glad you found a place!
Kudos to you for being able to do this. Although, I wouldn't mind my own twin bed for a night or two. I might actually get some cover that way.
They had the beds pushed together when we got here so we just left them....but since I don't have twin sheets, and wasn't going to buy any for 1 weeks, the bedding is all makeshift. I threw other sheets on but they don't stay and then we are each using a throw blanket we normally have on the sofa. It's not too bad
I'll skip right over the fact that my first thought was that I was in middle school in 1999.
I'm glad you guys were able to figure out temp housing to make the apartment you wanted work. The private kitchen and bath are awesome perks! Though I for one loved my campus dining food, though I know that other people hated it.
