Unless there is puke, pee, or poop on them we don't disinfect. Oh, or if she has been sick and another kid was playing with something I'd occasionally throw the hard plastic ones in the dishwasher.
I think I washed them once. Same toys for 3 kids over 5 years. The bath toys got disinfected a lot with DD1 because she was a serial tub-pooper. That's it though.
I throw them in the sink if they happen to get sticky or too slobbered on. But it's not every toy in a regular interval. I disinfected once after a bout of strep we couldn't shake.
I only cleaned the toys when I was babysitting my friends little boy and one of the kids was sick. I didn't want them passing germs back and forth. Then I would put toys in the dishwasher and either Lysol or vinegar spray everything the sick kid touched.

We give them a quick wipe down with a baby wipe if we take it out of the house. (Shopping, cousins house, etc) stuffed animals are occasionally washed. We were more diligent when he was putting everything in his mouth.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I did this once so far, after DD had hand foot and mouth. I only did it in case our friends brought their 9 month old over because I didn't want it to pass to her.
