There's actually an article about this in today's Wall Street Journal. Apparently there has been a delay in shipping some of the vaccine, including some meant for children, but they say there won't be a shortage...all anticipated doses will go out, just a bit later than originally thought (expected shipment by the end of this month, I believe the article mentioned) so you should be able to get the vax eventually.
Nope. DS and I got ours today. DD2 got hers last month, and DD1 is getting the flu mist at school next week. I'm glad I got something off the checklist today.
Hmm, no shortage thst I am aware of here. The girls got their first shot in September at their 6 mo appt and then they got the second round and J got his a few weeks ago.
kershnic the first time they get the flu shot it is in two doses. The first one and then a second about a month later.
Shortage here too. AJ was originally scheduled to get his shot at our pedi's Saturday flu shot clinic but I decided to cancel because he was finally acting like himself again after his HFM/sinus infection/teething trifecta and I wanted to enjoy the day with him, and when I called maybe a week later to schedule an appt they said they were out and would call me when they came in. I got the call last week, so it took a few weeks from when they told me they were out. J is taking him on Thursday.

They don't have the one for babies at our pedi (or any in the area). DS should've gotten his at his 9-mo appointment in September, but they didn't have them and still don't. They have them for DD. I have delayed getting hers so that I can just take them in and get them together, but I'm going to take her in this week. We are going OOT from Thanksgiving through Christmas, so I really hope they get them in before then.
Yes, my pediatrician just said today that for my three-year old there is a two-week minimum wait right now. And he has asthma! So I'm a little worried. She said in our area there is a pretty bad shortage.
No shortages by me. Each time the shortages begin I feel very lucky that the shot is required (and given) for my job and that my pediatrician has access to an ample supply early in the season
