Anyone else have thoughts on Into The Woods or The Last 5 Years?

I have lots of thoughts...

I'm excited for Into The Woods. I love the play, I wish I could have seen it live. I don't have high hopes for the movie, but I'll watch it regardless.

That's how I feel. I hate that they have essentially wasted Johnny Depp as the Wolf by making Red a child. And the fact that they're cutting "Anything Can Happen In The Woods" because the quickie that the Baker's Wife and Cinderella's Prince have isn't Disney-ok. My hopes are not high for it but the cast might make up for the re-writes.


Last 5 Years seems to be shaping up to be really good, despite Jeremy Jordan. There was a clip available of Anna Kendrick doing one of the songs and it was really good. Granted, she's pretty amazing and I'm fairly certain I want to have her baby.

I'm going to go see both of them, but am more looking forward to the Last 5 Years. I really like the songs from that show.

Honestly when I saw that scene in the play, *which I have on DVD,* LOL  A quickie wasn't what I thought of.  My brain went to well they just made out. LMAO.  Because other wise that was the QUICKEST quickie EVA.

I always saw it as a time lapse. Granted, Lapine and Sondheim left it deliberately unclear so that audience could draw conclusions. Either way, it's not chaste enough for Disney.

I am so ridiculously excited for the Last Five Years. Like, five year old on Christmas Eve excited.

Slightly less about Into the Woods, just because there are a lot more ways to mess that show up. But I'm going to watch both. Probably several times.
