Vent 1: Testing at work was going great until yesterday. Our main software engineer (has been coding our software for about 18 yrs) had to leave early for a doctor's appt. We managed to get all systems linked to the same domain network but when I came in this morning nothing is working. He was supposed to carpool to Palm Springs with another co-worker so I thought we would resolve these issues by 7:30, not the end of the world. Well, he went straight to Palm Springs and now I'm hoping that our consultant can get things up and running when he arrives at 9 am. Either way, I've lost 1/2 to 1 day of testing which really sucks when I'm only in the office 2 days a week.
Vent 2: It's DH's birthday on Sat. We have been talking to the ILs for weeks about going to dinner on Sunday to celebrate with them. MIL called yesterday and left a message to confirm plans. NBD, just need DH to make up his mind, which he finally does yesterday afternoon. I asked him to call her back but knew that wouldn't happen (talking to her is always long and never rejuvenating). Anyways, I worked 10 hours yesterday, went to my friend's, helped babysit, etc so never called her back. She called again this morning (and again while I'm trying to get work done). I finally took a break to call her back and she's all like, "Is something wrong, you didn't call me back yesterday " I wasn't the most patient with her and basically responded with WTF would you think something is wrong just because I didn't call you right back!?!? I have a life lady...if it was so urgent to firm up plans that were pretty solid to begin with then maybe try calling your son. She seriously gets on my nerves sometimes. Oh, and I realize that I'm being extra hormonally irrational but with everything going on right now (work, quitting work, my mom's health, issues with DH (which are thankfully a lot better), and drama with my friend, etc) I don't need extra stuff from her.

Sorry luv2rn4fun I hope your testing gets back on schedule! How annoying!
Your MIL needs to chill out. My MIL has done that to DH in the past where he'd be at work and if he didn't answer/call back right away it's all "why aren't you answering your phone?!" Um, because I'm at work? I think retired people forget that, haha.

My vent is very minor but there are weird smells in this apartment.
When we moved in there was a funky smell in the bathroom. We have no clue what it is or what's causing it, we are guessing maybe something in the drain or pipes? It is an old building so who knows. Air fresheners and such help but then it comes back.
Then last night there was a bad smell on one side of the room, when I went near the wall it was worse so I'm guessing the people/person on the other side was cooking something that smelled bad. It was really strong and gross. I hope that's not a normal thing.
luv2rn4fun That is frustrating about work. It stinks when others drop the ball and it affects us!
And yes...your MIL needs to chill. You guys also had plenty of time to chat over the next few days as well!!
One of my departments is doing a temp-to-hire situation. She hasn't had TIME to review the 30 candidates I've sent her, let along actually interview them. She's even admitted this to her superior and my boss! It's frustrating. I've done everything I could and they are still doing this.
My vent for today is that my H is leaving today to go out of town. I don't feel well and it just makes me sad. I don't like being in the house/sleeping alone.
My vent is that I heard some type of animal skittering about in the ceiling of my basement yesterday. H is positive it's field mice but it doesn't matter because I'm terrified of them too. I was too scared to go downstairs to get water last night lest I come into contact with the alleged animal on my own.
Good news is that we were finally able to get my test systems up and running. I worked a good 4 hours straight and cranked through a ton of testing. I just might be able to finish it all up when I'm back in the office on Monday...but, I also found a few issues that will likely lead to another software build that will have to be tested on Tues. Oh well, still plenty of time to get the report done and released (it actually won't be delayed at all since I'm not back in the office for a week). Hopefully we don't find any more issues on Monday (although it's much better for me to find them and delay the project than our customers finding them)!
My day was off to a really rough start. We were woken up at 1:30 AM by our wireless printer suddenly turning on to print. I was then up to almost 3 AM. Alarm went off at 5. Get ready to head out at 7, only can't find my keyring with my house and car keys on it. Called H, he had both his set AND my set...He said he really didn't want to turn around- I told him he had no option. He had to possibly be late to work because I couldn't possibly miss work (day before my review). I get to work, forty minutes later than I had planned (but still technically not late), feel flustered and as I'm carrying in a case of water the case splits open.
I'm finally home now, but pup had an accident in the house earlier today so the house still smells. Luckily the dogwalker cleaned the crate and pup up. Hoping tomorrow goes sooo much better, especially the important class period.
