They didn't give me instructions one way or the other, what was the protocol for yours? I suppose I could just call, but God forbid I get on the phone with someone!
They didn't give me any instructions, either. I wouldn't say I had a full bladder, but I had a decent amount of pee in there, lol. Baby wasn't being too cooperative, and about halfway through the tech had me go empty my bladder. Not sure how much it helped, but she said she got all the info she needed.
I didn't get any instructions either. I'm sure I peed first just because I didn't want them pressing on a full bladder! The only US I have ever had so far that required a full bladder for not for pregnancy.

Ok my strategy is I will drink water on the way there, ask when I check in and I'll pee if it doesn't matter. It's at the MFM office at 12:45. It doesn't take much for my bladder to feel full, even when I'm not pregnant!
I didn't get any instructions, but drank a lot before hand and they said my bladder was nice and full and that was helpful. I went with the mindset of I can always empty it if I need to there - so I drank a lot before hand. But my bladder was so full they couldn't find one of my ovaries, so maybe I was too full..
They didn't tell me either way, so I drank some water on the way and figured I'd be able to pee if it was too full. The tech commented more than once on how full my bladder was but didn't ask me to empty it. To be honest, it wasn't even super full for me. I must be able to hold a lot of water.
They told me to drink a certain number of ounces (15? 20? something like that) 15-20 minutes before my appointment. They said they do this because it can help make it easier to see since it pushes up on your uterus. I was worried my bladder wouldn't be full enough, so I drank more than that and then they had me partially empty my bladder because it was too full. The baby was moving around too much from the pressure of my bladder pushing on him, which was fun to see. The tech was really nice about it and let us watch for a few minutes before she had me go pee, since this was the first we had ever seen him move.
It think it's helpful but not completely necessary. I had a 6 week us that I was expecting to be vaginal so I didn't have a full bladder, but they did abdominal instead and it was fine

It went great! The nuchal fold measured perfect. We'll get the Verifi test back in 8-10 days, but the odds sounded very low that they would pick up anything else abnormal. Can't wait to find out the sex!
Oh and they never mentioned my bladder. I could have peed before I went in but didn't, that seemed fine.

Oh and I was surprised to learn the Tay-Sachs testing was recommended for me because my maternal grandfather was French Canadian, so they did that along with the Verifi.

Yep, it also runs in that population. Genetics are weird man. Good news is that the chances are super low.

Yes and my H is all Irish so his chance of having it even if I do is almost non-existent. Learn something every day!

Yay!!
How funny, I had mine today today! Same, they said everything looks good so far. I guess we're doing the MaterniT21 test I think. I can't wait to get the results back either!

I didn't get an NT scan but at the ultrasound I had at 12 weeks I was told to have a full bladder (as well as the u/s before I got pregnant and my a/s). Not sure if it's the same though! They did the belly u/s, had me pee, then did the internal one.
