So, I went to have some pics taken at Picture People of my son. I did use a Groupon.
The pictures were HORRIBLE. Out of focus, poor composition, and on the few decent ones, a strange red smearing that couldn't be fixed so the pics had to be in black and white.
Ultimately, the pics up to 5x7 look ok, but his face on the larger ones appear super blurry.
We will probably be back near the mall tomorrow, so my question is, would you go back and try to get another pose in the larger size or just let it go and chalk it up to getting what you pay for?
My girlfriend took her 6 month old to Picture people and the photos came out adorable. I met her for lunch afterwards and she had all the prints that were blown up and framed etc. They looked great.
I went to picture people with a groupon about 2 years ago and besides the fact that I didn't love the pictures because DD wasn't really cooperating, the quality of the prints and photos was fine. I would not settle for what you are describing. The fact that you used a groupon shouldn't matter...
I agree. I would take my prints in and ask for retakes. I've used Picture People in the past and never had an issue with the quality. Groupon or not, you paid for a service and they should fix it.
I would bring the photos and show them how blurry it is and make sure they're aware that you had to get them in black and white because of the red smear. I would definitely ask for a re-take session. If you point out the problems, I can't see them saying no.

We went to Picture People for 3-month pics and they didn't turn out. The quality was fine, but DD wasn't smiling in any of them. Needless to say we had them retake the pics the following week on a less busy day with a different photographer and we love them! They didn't give is any grief about wanting retakes.

Our Christmas card pictures last year were from Picture People's groupon deal, and they were the first people to get a picture of all three kids together, smiling and looking cute. I would absolutely have them retake - I bet they have to do that all the time.
