Does anyone have an eternity wedding band or anniversary band? I love how they look, but I have a fear that I'd lose or stone or something. I am really good about caring for my e-ring and (plain) wedding band, so I'd do the same with any other higher price rings etc. Is my fear misguided?
For what it's worth, I sit at a desk all day and write reports for a living so I'm not worried about it getting banged around at work. I also don't wear my rings while doing housework, etc.
I like the look of eternity bands but I didn't get one because 1) why pay for gems that wrap around the bottom where you don't see them? and 2) I've heard they are much more difficult/expensive to re-size if you need to do it in the future. So I opted for a half eternity band and I love it! It was less expensive and it has the same type of look. It moves off center slightly once in a while, but not enough that it bothers me. I love it!
noodleoo - I looked at the half circle and noticed that for a few options the full circle was only a slight bit higher in price. So then I was like why not? The sizing part does give me pause though...since now that I've lost weight, my original rings are loose, eek!

Wow, interesting! I ended up with larger stones in a half eternity than I would have gotten with a full eternity. But yes, we ended up spending the same.
I have 2 from Tiffany's. My actual wedding band, I've never had any issues with. I actually got it too big and they traded it for a smaller size instead of bothering to resize it. My sapphire/diamond one has been the troublesome one. I had a stone fall out 3x in it and they finally just gave me a whole new ring. Now I have no issues with it. Price is higher at Tiffany's but for the customer service and the higher quality diamonds...totally worth every extra penny.
The thing I like about the eternity vs just stones across the top is that it rolls around on my finger. I like that I don't have to turn it back around otherwise I would be fixing it all day long.
Thanks for this post, OP. I love eternity bands and wanted one as my wedding band but allowed the jeweler to punk me out of it because they said they're too high maintenance/delicate. I've always regretted it. I've been thinking of asking husband for one as a xmas gift this year.I have a desk job and am not hard on my hands etc. so I think I'm going to go for it. Let's PIP (if I ever learn how, lol)once we get them
Both my e-ring and wedding band are eternity bands. One has been worn for 8 years, the other for 7. No issues. And I am not gentle on my rings. I wear them 24/7, and I worked in a research lab (lots of hands on work). Still no issues.
I went the half-eternity route because of the re-sizing issue. I kind of wish I'd gotten an eternity band because I have to spin them around fairly often. So far I haven't taken advantage of being able to re-size a half eternity, but we'll see.

I have this too. The diamonds are bigger than in the eternity band of a similar price, since they are only on the top. I have had it for 10 years and still like it. You can also have it made bigger if your ring size changes as you age much more easily.
