I'm planning on making these on Saturday:
...because they're adorable and I have no shame. And they seem really easy. Except I couldn't find any cookies to make the ship ones (OK, I only looked at Target, but still. Target.should.have.all.I.need)... and I don't know whether to skip them or try to fashion a ship out of something else. Going somewhere else to look for those cookies: I guess I could but I don't wanna. Bought Swedish Fish, maybe I could do a fishy thing...
But, even though I've done similar stuff recently, I always worry that it will turn into a big :NAILED IT: thing. Like, I couldn't find any of the edible white pearls, so I'm doing decorative white sugar, which I think will look at least as good... but I worry, and I will until they're all done. And consumed.

Here is a typical conversation as of late:
DD: "Booo!" Me: "Ahhh! A scary monster!" DD: "Mommy, I not really a ghost. I just pretending." (Please read that in a tone that implies I'm a complete idiot.)
The other day, she said "Look, a monster in the tree!" I responded, "Oh, no - are you going to save me?" "Mommy, there not really a monster."

DH is going out for happy hour tonight with some new work friends. I'm really glad he's making friends at work so quickly but dammit he's leaving me to care for a baby during her cranky time. Please send good thoughts and alcohol.

I really shouldn't complain. We have a deal that involves him taking care of her during her traditionally crabby hours. So I haven't been solo with Ms Crankypants in like 4 months.
But there is like an hour each day that she turns into Beelzebaby. That hour happens to be happy hour time tonight.
My kid is on my last nerve today. He was a monster at the indoor playground today, and then continued all afternoon. DH comes home and he does the "sweet boy" act.
My kid told me today that she signed up to bring pumpkin muffins to the Kindergarten Fall Festival tomorrow. The downside of having a kid who reads and writes, I guess. Must get baking.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
1 - I made 25 rainbow loom pumpkin charms for Jackson's class party craft tomorrow and they are so cute. They were addicting to make. I love rainbow looming, lol.
2 - I finished my first sewing project. I made Jackson a tunic and hat for his Link (Legend of Zelda) costume. The hat is a masterpiece lol.
3 - I had Scarlett's parent teacher conference today and her teacher said that she is blown away by Scarlett. She's a "joy to have in class" and is far beyond where they expect them to be at the end of the year. One thing that she said that made me so proud was that Scarlett is happy to sit by and play with any of her classmates and that she is friendly to all of them. I love hearing that about my kids even more than I love hearing they are brilliant (lol).
