Yesterday, DH accepted a sub job for me in the online system. I wasn't planning on working today because I need to try to get in to see the doctor (and now it looks like Abby might need to be seen for an ear infection). Except there's no way to cancel an appointment in the system and I didn't realize he'd made the job for me until after hours.
I emailed the teacher to let her know I wasn't going to be able to make it, but haven't heard back. I called the school and haven't been able to get in touch with them. It's 30 minutes before school starts and they're not answering their phone. There needs to be a better way for subs to cancel; they get sick sometimes too.
This is all DH's fault. I TOLD him I wasn't going to work today, but apparently if I don't definitively say, "I.am.not.working," then it's just nebulous and he can do whatever he wants.
I really want to to on Sunday to Faneuil Hall where Mayor Menino will be lying in state to pay my respects, but I don't know if I will be able to. I'm watching the news now and getting all teary. He was such an amazing force for Boston.
I have the worst period of my life. I was in so much pain last night and I almost passed out. I hope it calms down before I have to go to work. Feeling like this, while dealing with 30 crazy kindergartners is not going to be fun.

I cried this morning at the coverage.
I'm so excited for tonight! I hope it isn't a disaster!
Non-stop tantrum this morning. One of Andrew's alphabet toys is missing the letter D. DH told me about it last night, but didn't bother to look for it. I have looked EVERYWHERE for this damn D and it's nowhere to be found. He won't stop freaking out until it's found. I guarantee.

To follow up on yesterday, I asked Edie who her favorite princess was from Frozen. She said Elsa. I asked her why. She said her favorite is Elsa. So I asked Adeline. She said Kristof. I said Kristof probably isn't a princess (not to project, but just so I could ask her why she picked Elsa or Anna). So she said Sven.

Oh, I hate when that happens. Every time we move, I find toys under the stove and fridge. I hope you find it.
Yesterday my kid was a mess, today A is. TGI freaking F. Also, I'm taking them TOTIng in the mall after nap (they are both train conductors! And neither of us knew what the other was doing). The mall does toting from 3-6. That's kind of lame for working parents. But nanny mom is meeting us so I can get off early. Then j and I are headed to hoboken to meet my H and do some more there. Then I plan on taking the kid home, putting him to bed and eating candy and drinking beer.
I got my hair done last night, and I am kind of, really obsessed with the color.
I'm so sad over Mayor Menino's death. I started crying at my desk when I heard the news yesterday. I probably looked pathetic! He was just such an amazing guy and truly Boston's biggest fan.
No TOT tonight I planned to take A to the mall since our town had tot last week, but I don't think any mall around here is doing it! At least A got to bring her costume to school.

I've been asking Evan for a month what he wanted to be for Halloween and never got an answer since he doesn't quite get the concept yet. This morning, on our way to daycare, dressed as a firefighter, he said he wanted to be Elsa.

We need a pic of the hair!!!
So, I have the before and after pic my stylist took. Keep in mind the before pic looks like a rat's nest, since I had it in a messy bun all day!

I've seen posts on b/s/t sites in my area ISO Elsa or Anna costumes. Saying they are sold out everywhere. But there have been a million at our Target in the toy section forever. Maybe people don't think to look in the dress up section for....dress ups.
I support Evan's Elsa dreams. Too bad he didn't pick it in time!!!

10 minutes into 3 hr glucose test. This is going to be a long morning. At least this nurse is super nice, and the drink was chilled. The nurse for my 1 hr was super cranky, got after me for not drinking the drink quickly enough, and gave me a room temp orange drink.

I bought some $8 jeans from Old Navy a while back, but they are so long/I'm so short. It's going to cost me twice as much to have them hemmed. Ugh. In a related random, I wish I knew how to sew.

I can't post a picture without being creepy, but a family friend with a baby ruby's age made him Bruce Springsteen for halloween (they're from NJ). The shirt says "just born in the usa". I'm dying!
So we were out at the building site for our new house last night and H starts looking at the garage door opening. He pulls out his tape measure and realizes they only framed it for a 7 foot door. We specifically asked (and paid) for an 8 foot door because of H's big truck. He got on the phone last night and confirmed that the plans specify 8 feet, so they're going to have to fix that. I really want to be in for Christmas, and I hope this doesn't push us back too far.
I swear my husband has zero common sense sometimes and it infuriates me.
Go on...
It's just every day life. He's really smart but common sense is not on his side. Last night he was asking me where the stamps were, then the envelopes, then a blank piece of paper. He had to send something out. He gathered it all and then as he is leaving for work he is running around trying to find a pen. I don't understand why he just didn't put it all together last night when he had the chance. Not when he is leaving for work and going to be late.
And last night he starts to carve a pumpkin 10 minutes before dinner is ready. Really? We've had all damn week to do it and I wanted to do them last weekend. And he was leaving shit, sharp objects all over the place where Lillian could get it. So of course Lillian didn't want to eat because of all the pumpkin excitement.
It sounds really petty but this kind of stuff goes on all the time. I feel like I am dealing with another child.
