DS still hates his costume. I plan to stick him in it anyway and hope he gets over it.
We always take the kids to my parents' house for TOTing, dinner, and to hand out candy. I know this bothers my MIL that we don't come see them in costume. It makes no sense to go out to see them, but it still upsets her. I have decided not to care.
I am sometimes really glad we don't get ToTers out here n the middle of nowhere. My dog is a shepherd mix and is so straightedge that we call hom "the chaperone." He hates yelling and will shut you down if you try horseplay. Not only does he hate strangers knocking at the door, he hates masks even more. I think Halloween beats out 4th of July for a dog's worst nightmare.

My parents get upset too. We ToT at the shops/businesses in town and it's literally down the street from MIL. She usually comes to meet us but doesn't stay. To see my parents I have to drive 20 minutes past our ToT destination, in traffic, then back, in traffic. They're welcome to come meet us but they don't because they suck. It's go to them or nothing and I don't have the time or energy to schlep my kids all over kingdom come for them to see them in their costumes
Confession wise- I cut out a couple toxic friends I had. It was hard for me to come to terms with it & fully realize they weren't true friends. But I still miss them.
My MIL (who is a loving and mostly capable grandma but annoying as fuck) "claimed" making halloween costumes for our kids when I was pregnant with G. Whatever, I give zero fucks. her money, her time. She is a talented seamstress and does a great job. Last year she made him an awesome purple dragon costume and this year she made him football pants. They are adorable. He has decided he wants to ToT as a football player dragon. I'm a little sad that the pants won't fit over the dragon costume, and I'm sure she wants to see him in it (because of course she invited herself over tonight) but he was SO excited about his idea I'm gonna let him wear whatever he wants
I love football player dragon! can you just off the bottom of the dragon costume so he can wear it with his football pants? And make sure to reattach the tail if there is a tail. Your kid has the best costume ideas.

This is almost exactly our situation as well. My parents live in a great neighborhood for TOT-ing, and my mom goes all out with the decor and makes spooky pizza and has wine. Also, my best friend's parents live across the street, so we all meet up and go TOT-ing and DD helps my mom hand out candy (by far her favorite part). To drive to my inlaws', it's at least 20 minutes, fighting traffic, their neighborhood stinks for TOT-ing, and my MIL doesn't even get home until 6:30 or 7. Makes zero sense to go there. She can be mad all she wants.
My MIL asked if she could pretty please come over and see the boys in their costumes tonight. I gave in and said fine. I really hope I don't regret this decision.

I've got the same IL issues when it comes to TOT. Except that they say hi to the kids and than ignore them the rest of the time. We are going to my brothers house to TOT and eat dinner. I told them they were more than welcome to stop by there if they want to see the kids. They know my brother and SIL really well so it's not weird. I refuse to have my kids miss out on fun to sit in traffic just to show off costumes. That's what pictures are for.

I'm watching my nieces all day, which I do for money a few times a week. Today I feel awful and they have been watching Netflix for two hours straight. My SIL probably wouldn't even mind it on a rare occasion but I feel like the crappiest aunt/sitter. I never feel this guilt when I let DD watch a bunch of tv, so I guess I care about my nieces more or what family would think than the screen time. I hope my garlic, Advil, and OJ tonic works some magic soon.

Please go further into detail about spooky pizza. We are doing make your own pizzas tonight... How do I make them spooky??

My kid called a boy at tot gym an ass. I did not correct him because that kid ran into my 17m old repeatedly with his bike to knock him down and then when I picked him up, the kid ran into my 3 year old with the bike and chased him until he climbed up onto a chair. That kid was being an ass.

DS and I are making these tonight
Yup. Similar to that. The kids get the spooky ones (because it's basically just cheese and olives), and the grown-ups get real pizza. Sometimes she just makes the dough pumpkin shaped, and we do individual pizzas. And she always finds a bottle of wine (or 2) that has a creepy label.
My confession is that even though we're taking DS to my parents', DH's mom/stepdad's, and DH's aunt and uncle's house, we aren't taking them to DH's dad/stepmom's house. They live five minutes away so it would be really, really easy, but they don't really bother to be in his life, so IDGAF. I'm not going to make any effort to bring DS to them. They're toxic people and they treat DH and I really badly. I don't even feel a tiny bit guilty about this.

I'm sorry. I have one friend that I am slowly pulling away from because I have realized that she just makes me feel awful all the time. And she is not reliable or supportive. Like, she pretty much lacks the qualities of a true friend. It's still really hard though because sometimes I want to reach out to her and I regret it every single time . It's so hard to end bad friendships!
I am still pissed off about who won Project Runway. I know it's just a show, but holy hell they got it so, so, SO wrong.
I imagine this is flameful because it's a tv show and does not affect my life in any way shape or form.
I was surprised too! I mean, it was obvious Char didn't have a chance but Kini had a gorgeous collection and Amanda held her own. I was NOT expecting that. No flames from me!
I watched the reunion last night on DVR and corina was still acting like a weepy butthole!

Yeah, I'm watching the reunion right now and it pissed me off all over again. We all knew Char would be eliminated first but I was SHOCKED that Kini was eliminated second. I think Kini had a better body of work than everyone else, but Amanda took the final runway for me. Sean wasn't even on my radar for final two and I certainly wasn't expecting him to win the whole thing. Apparently a lot of other people agreed with me by a huge margin.

I was team kini all season...Amanda did have a good final show though...I was torn between them!? And then...Sean?? Really??

My parents got my kids a gym membership for their birthdays... because they love the pool, of course! I am excited to take them swimming, but maybe more excited that the gym has a daycare, and I get to work out/shower on my own.
I'm wearing shorts, and I just looked down and thought, "Hmm, I never realized I had those two big moles on my thigh. How interesting." Then I realized it was chocolate.
That's what you get for eating Reese's right after breakfast.
I bought a bag of Ettemans (sp?) glazed doughnuts last night. DS got the bag off the counter and was chowing down, and had both hands full of drooled on doughnuts by the time I found him.

Oops.
Been there. Damn kid ate almost a full box of donut holes while I was in the shower.
Kind of mad when I found a half-chewed up one on the floor. Such a waste

Aw man, Sean won PR??? I confess I haven't followed this season in a while (it's on the same night I have rehearsal) but I was also rooting for Kini every time I did watch....he was SO talented and always seemed like a class act. Reading this now I'm glad I didn't bother w/ the end of the season.
The only other stuff I have to confess is probably the disgusting amount of cookies and candy I just ate....had done a ton of cleaning w/o eating and was suddenly starving....sugar rush ftw!
I hope all you ladies that are feeling sickly and tired are all better soon!!
