I have muscular thighs and a wide booty, yet keep trying to cram it all into skinny jeans & pencil skirts. I bought a couple of new skinnies the other day and need an opinion. Be gentle, maybe these are horrible, but let me down gently I keep seeing photos on pinterest and their jeans seem to look just as fitted.
As for the pencil skirts, I wish I had a picture. In order for them to fit properly in the waist and not gap, it's sort of bunchy in the lower front and backside area, leaving me feeling exposed. Maybe I need to buy spanx or a bigger size. I'll have to update with a picture when I get a chance.. For now, does anyone else have this problem?

I think those look fine! I think a lot of people can get away with "skinnies", it just depends on finding the right fit. Like maybe a straight, crop pant is the better route to go for muscular legs (mine included). I've learned that I just can't fit into the super skinny ones because I don't have small enough calves and it just looks bad. But a looser fitting straight pant has a really slimming effect.
I don't have muscular thighs (anymore) I just have chubby thighs, but I think I can relate. Those pants look fine to me. They aren't really my style to begin with, but I think you look just about the same in yours as all the other girls do. It's hard to see what they're doing around your knees and down though - are they tight over your thighs and then loose on your lower legs?
Side note: Your little monkey dude shopping buddy is cute.
Pencil skirts almost never fit me off the rack. The only way to get a really good fit (for me) is to go up sizes until they fit smoothly over my hips and thighs without pulling and then get the waist altered to fit. Spanx aren't going to fix that issue. You might get lucky finding one cut well for you, but it'll be a hunt.

"wide booty"? Um, where? I think they look great. I personally prefer them to be tighter around the calf area, but that doesn't look like the way these were made.
Thanks ladies! They are crops and are really fitted in the calf area and flare a bit at the bottom. They're also a juniors line which could be some of the issue with the fit (Kohls).
wawa, thank you my little shopping buddy insisted he wear his new shirt, even in 100 degree temps. He doesn't like to admit that he's an avid shopper like his mama.
I'm liking them Ladymeg! The color especially but I think the fit works for you as well.
I'm no help with pencil skirts I'm afraid. The only one I've EVER liked on me is this Gap one. I bought it when I was still loosing weight though, so it doesn't fit anymore. If you're really wanting to try one and don't mind basic black, it's this one.
It had the perfect amount of stretch to avoid gaps and such. It was a perfect material to hide any flaw you think you might have and it looked darn sexy.
I've tried on all the other pencils skirts that the girls are rocking on here and I never felt like they looked right on me.
The couple of pencil skirts I own are from United Colors of Benneton, and fit good over a booty. I would recommend those. Also if you have a small waist, I would buy the skirt for your butt and get the waist tailored, rather than having it bunchy looking because you're trying to fit both parts of your body in different sizes, kwim?
As for the pants I think those look really cute on you!
Ha, have you seen my ON post? and previous AE skinny post; my body is not made for them!
I think the ones you posted look good on you!
Like Fashion said, generally to get pencil skirts to work for me, I have to buy them to appropriately fit my thighs and then take in the waist if needed.
