You guys, it was so fun! And we did not learn nearly enough Japanese, but reading katakana did help with a lot of things. We bought so much stuff we had to buy an extra suitcase to bring it all home. OMG. No regrets though, who knows when or if we'll go again. I had fun sightseeing but just could not get enough shopping. As you can see. This doesn't even include all the gifts we bought for our family or the beauty products I bought.
I have to say the weirdest thing I came back with was a Sailor Moon maxi pad sample (link). Took me a little bit to figure out what it was but I laughed when I finally figured it out! The Dragon Ball Z doujinshi we bought is also pretty entertaining, again we can't read it but the pictures are....something else. Oh and they released the first two episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal on blu-ray while we were there so I bought it and it's SO COOL because the box is a MUSIC BOX that plays the opening theme. BUT there are no English subtitles so it's more of a novelty than anything, sigh.
Did you get any of the flavored Kit-kats? I should order the Sailor moon for my husband he is such a huge fan and insists on watching them undubbed so he can work on his japanese.

Well yeah, that's the only way to watch them.
I like subtitled at least, if its just him, he watches in the original as much as he can, and I have no idea whats going on.

Yes!! We got seven different flavors! Green tea, black tea (I think), strawberry, pudding, pumpkin pudding, rum raisin, and wasabi. We've been waiting for our family to come up to see our pictures and try them all out together, so we haven't opened any of them yet.
I was a little surprised at how expensive anime DVDs and Blu-rays were, I had just assumed that prices in Japan would be significantly cheaper than getting them here at home but the prices were about the same! I assumed they would be about 20 or 30 bucks just like getting a season of an American TV series at home but I was WROOOOOONG. Lols. Oh well. The Sailor Moon one was cool enough that I didn't mind but I wouldn't have wanted to come home with tons of expensive stuff when I couldn't even figure out if they had subtitles. The other blu-ray I bought does though, so that was a nice surprise
