Are you following any particular races?
I'm following the Texas governor's race, even though I don't live there anymore I really wanted Wendy Davis to win (she won't). She's a champion for women's rights in a time when leadership in the state is restricting them. The abortion law changes that went into effect last year really hit home for me - if they had happened just a few months earlier, I would have been too late to terminate in the state. I can't even imagine.
BTW, I've been living in DC for a whole week and a half and I'm already really annoyed by the whole "taxation without representation" thing! Not fair!
The only one I'm really invested in is our friend that's running for reelection as a state rep. He's done great things (including being a cowriter for our marriage equality bill that passed) and I hope he gets to continue his work! We live on the wrong side of the district to vote for him but I did vote for the guy in our district that is very similar to him!
I'm also holding onto hope we get a decent person to replace Bachmann. I'm embarrassed that I live in her district..
Nothing here really- the NY governor is already projected to win reelection. We have two congressman up for reelection- one is clearly going to win, the other one probably won't, sadly, because he's running against the guy from the local news

There is an amendment here that has been proposed that, if passed, will really affect the teaching profession negatively. And the person behind the "yes" side is a billionaire. Hopefully the grassroots work by teachers and parents can strike it down! I'm in Missouri. I'm watching the IL governor race too since I'm on the border and a family member is reporting on the Illinois races for the local news.
So far most of the people I wanted to win are, but my US house district is terrible. I mean, we elected Bachmann how many times somehow, so I shouldn't be surprised, but UGH. Holding onto hope for the state races! My friend is ahead right now!
I can't watch the results anymore.. so disappointed in my area right now. The other guy is beating our friend with his campaign of overspending and constant attack ads. I couldn't even tell you what his views are on anything other than he doesn't like the current guy. Just makes me hate politics so much. I probably wouldn't have been so invested if it weren't for someone I know on the ballot. The race is still close and updating VERY slowly so there's hope, but I'm nervous. He's done such a great job and ran such a great campaign that I'm so disappointed in this city for him!
I think I should just go to bed and hope for good news in the morning! At least the people I wanted won for governor and senator.
We have a GMO labeling measure that is currently too close to call, so I'm keeping an eye on that this morning.
What was the outcome?
Still too close to call. We do mail in ballots in Oregon and ballot boxes were open until 8pm last night, so they're still counting. It's saying that an estimated 86.3% of ballots have been counted, and the tally is at 49.1%/50.9% so they will probably end up doing a re-count.
