I'm not sure I I already shared this picture from Monday. She's doing well. Same old toddler stuff going on. Learning, growing, testing boundaries. Her daycare is offering a parenting class on a weekend day for $20 that H and I might go to. It's always nice to get a fresh perspective.
The time change has surprisingly been a rough adjustment this week. Evenings have been awful so I'm guessing she's not napping well at school.
We don't have anything new and exciting. Both the girls are doing well and attempting to better figure out how to play with each other. It's been a tested thing for a while as M is just too rough and crazy, but it slowly gets better as j gets bigger. I'm working on J's 1st birthday, theres a whole etiquette portion thats is still bothering me about other friends but I'm trying to let it go since we figured it out without making it into something big. The joys of having friends with kids birthdays right around/on the same day as your kids and most of your friends are similar.
No apts until J's 12 month so thats something. She hasn't been one for eating much lately which this happened just a couple weeks ago when she had her two top teeth coming in so I'm wondering if more are on their way or what. Either way it makes trying to get her fed very difficult.
i'm currently going through teething hell with my boy..very little sleep in our house, but oh well. bjl is doing good. MIL bought bjl a disney princess figurine set with changeable outfits from costco...and she played with that over 2 hours quietly, so i'm glad that MIL is getting a little break, too, since my boy has not been very nice to her.
i need to make an allergy appointment. we skipped the flu shot for egg sensitivities for the boy...i don't know the deal, but his skin has been amazing lately. not amazing-amazing, but amazing for him. other than the diaper rash from teething....but...you win some, you lose some.
Almost 13 mo. Still teething (always teething!). He has 8 teeth fully, 4 more to ones that are partially emerged and 4 more on the bottom that you can see the outline, but it's mostly swelling. He should get a pretty good break after that (I hope!). I've started to reintroduce into my diet dairy and I'm not being as careful with soy (only traces), and it's going OK, bit in bit convinced he's totally ready. He's gone from daily poops to 3-4/day, though they seem otherwise normal. Who knows. In happy just to have a little more flexibility with what I eat when we are out. Monthly weight/growth check tomorrow.
E is 15 months. Check up and shots next week unless I have to reschedule b/c of a work conflict.
He's into this ET finger touch thing and fist pounding, which he finds hysterical. He's also getting down blowing kisses. Sleeping 6:30-7 every day. I'm loving it. He's go, go, go, but he also has been more cuddly. So cute!
cdmay we also increased poops from 1x's to 3-4xs or more a day. it's a pain for cloth diapers!!! i dislike washing this many poops in a day. my little one is also doing better on dairy/soy. i gave him straight yogurt the other day, and he did fine..but since i reintroduced soy about 6 weeks ago, he gets little hives on his butt when he poops...i feel like i need to cut the soy again..but i just can't. soy is SO hard.
Girls are doing ok. Almost 3 yo and 5 months today! Oldest goes from the sweetest kid ever to being sassy and demanding. Hard to keep up. Youngest is doing a little better past few days. However sleeping on her own is still bad. How do other people do this? Am I the only one with a baby that once they fall asleep you can't set them down? The only time I'm able to do this is putting her down for the night. Trying to get little one to nap in crib. She's currently in a pack n play in our dining room. Oldest just got registered for preschool that starts in January. I actually stood in a line an hour before they accepted applications to make sure she got a spot. Craziness
For me soy is easier than dairy (but suit sauce isn't a frequent ingredient in my life). That's interesting another poop frequency for you, too (I cant believe I just said that). I haven't even given him any yet, just what he's getting through nursing. And ugh, scraping diapers makes me gag so bad (tbh, even changing soiled disposables makes me gag). Sorry for the ramble...
jennlin Just got back from ped appt. She said more poop can indicate something is up, but the characteristics are more telling and it's probably just a (non-problematic) effect of foods. She very much preferred we wait until 12mo to introduce dairy or soy (which we did), but is not at all concerned that this is an indication of persisting intolerance. How that helps The diaper rash thing, though, isn't something I can comment on. J gained 13 oz in the past month, so is up to 5% overall (which I think is ~21%bf).

well i started noticing the more poops when we started his iron supplements, so i attributed it to that..but since you said your babe was doing the same, maybe it was an age thing. i don't remember bjl going through multiple poops in a day. they don't seem to be painful or anything, he just still hates poopy diapers, so we just have to change him right away.

Hello,
BKB is doing well. I think I posted her stats after her 3 year wellness check. It's been a couple weeks since i checked in I think, so sorry if I already shared. She's 40lbs and 41 inches tall. She has dropped her nap but we still do quiet time. Overall she's been pretty good except at dinner she'll goof off at the table. She's already lost her dinner once because of it. Last night she had time out and was able to return to dinner, but she decided she wanted the rest of her food for lunch the next day instead.
Lately she's been getting up and asking where we are going that day. She's starting to be able to tell us what she did that day too, at school or at my in-laws. She also wakes up and says she doesn't want to get up yet and wants to finish what ever book she's reading in bed. We just tell her to come get us when she's ready to get up. She won't get out of bed until we come get her which is awesome for us. We can sleep in a little bit even if she is up before us.
Potty training is still a work in progress but she is finally telling us she has to go on occasion which is nice. I really think she's just a slow learner on this one and she'll get there eventually so I'm relaxing about it. I think I will give her to 3 and a half before I cut her off from diapers.
Oh, another milestone (I always think of better answers after I post), he is understanding rules & discipline much better! He tests boundaries over & over, gently, but he understands he's not supposed to, and after enough "nos" and starn looks, he'll stop. Like, I used to have to put my laptop away whenever he was awake b/c he will hit it, play with the cord, and try to push it on the floor no matter what I say or do. Now I leave it out and he'll touch it & look at me, touch it lightly, etc, but after a few no, don't touch, he'll leave it alone & go play with something else. This is very exciting for me!
omg alias, what is your secret??! bjl STILL won't leave the laptop alone. we can't use it when she's in the room. we only use it in the closed office doors....which is why i'm NEVER on a computer at home anymore.
My life is currently revolving around lack of sleep. G is waking up multiple times at night and A is still up to nurse MOTN multiple times. DH has decided he doesn't have to parent at night and I'm ready to lock him out of the house to sleep in the rain if he doesn't step up. I woke up with a really sore throat on top of the overwhelming tiredness this morning.
G is in the middle of very frustrating attention-seeking behavior of intentional daily potty "accidents", sometimes multiple times a day. But cried when I tried to put her back in diapers so we're stuck dealing with the messes. Potty training itself was way easier! A is probably going through a wonder week and has been grumpier than usual, though thankfully this morning he's sitting in his bouncer while I lie on the couch. And...he just pooped. We're battling diaper rash here too. I wish I could catch a break lately!

I don't know! I've tried no, no touching, slapping his hand, re-direction, stern looks...nothing worked & I just went crazy & kept everything he couldn't have out of his reach. And lately he just figured it out. It's a miracle! He never hits it, but he'll lightly tap and then look at me and I tell him no, then he'll just touch it and look at me and I say no, then he'll set his hand next to it and ill say thank you, good job and he's proud of himself and moves on. It's so cute to watch him test the boundaries and process it. No hitting is working better too.
