I fucked up and forgot to put an RSVP day on the Evite for DS's bday party next Saturday. We invited 16 kids and so far have gotten 3 nos and 2 yeses. 11 people haven't responded. I'm supposed to tell the place this Saturday our headcount.
DS (turning 6) will be crushed if only two kids show up to his party. Do I tack an RSVP date on there and email it again? Is that annoying and rude? I'm kind of willing to be annoying if it means people show up to my kid's party and he's not sad.
All of the bday party invites were done via Evite in kindergarten because the school discourages bringing them in, so I know it's not an etiquette thing.
I think you can send out an email/update to those who haven't responded yet - I would just send something out like, "Please let me know if you can make it by Friday so I can give the bowling alley (or wherever) a final count! Thanks!" Not a big deal.
How long ago did you send the Evite? There is nothing wrong with a email update, but give it some time (or phase it as "oops! I forgot to include an RSVP date!" not "Please RSVP NOW!!"). It's awkward to get an update request while you are still checking dates with people.

When I get an evite for a kids party, I usually get a reminder email about a week before if I haven't RSVP'd yet. I don't think a reminder email or another email with a RSVP date on it is bad or annoying.
