I rub baby back ribs in honey and mix brown sugar with various seasonings (whatever I have on hand to make a good rub). I then place in a disposable pan, meat side up and fill the pan with Dr Pepper or beer, just until the space in the curve of the rib rack is filled (I don't cover the top of the ribs).
Then I cover very tightly with tinfoil and bake at about 300 for 30 min, then turn down to 275 for another hour or so. Discard the liquids from the pan, smother in BBQ sauce and place under the broiler for a few minutes. You could also transfer to the grill but be careful because they will be very tender.
I get so many compliments on how tender they are. I love smoked ribs too but don't have a smoker so I think this is the next best way to cook them.
Edit: If I think about it ahead of time, I will let the rub sit on them overnight.
