It's Hump Day again! My mind is blank right now so remind me if we had any BFPs this week? Anyone want to announce now? Come on in!
1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey?
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share?
3. QOTW - IHO the Olympics. Say you have a ten year old kid who excels at a sport. His coaches tell you he could be a champion if you were willing to take it to the next level starting right then. WWYD? And how much would you commit to your child's future as an athlete? Assume he/she wants to advance and understands as best a ten year old can the level of committment needed.
2. Just trying not to go crazy while I wait to test!
3. If my child has the talent and expresses an interest then I would do whatever I could to help them reach their dream. However, if I noticed a decline in schooling or their emotional well-being I would probably pull them out.
1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey? Cycle 29, I think? CD11
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share?
I called a few REs this week but it will be several weeks before I can get an appointment. On a lark, I had DH take an at-home sperm test and it came back negative. I am super worried because DH is very alpha male and this could be a huge blow to his ego. DH is in total denial. After ~15 minutes what I would call an evap line showed up and he is all "I see a line!".
I would want my kid to go for it. However, I would probably struggle mentally with the notion of my other children (provided I have more than one) thinking I favor the good athlete because of the expected parental contribution in getting the kid to games, practices, the $$ spent.
1. Cycle 3, CD 14 2. I stopped charting/OPKing because it was making me nuts, but now I wish I have an idea of whether I O'ed or not. 3. I don't know...I would go for what I thought was best for the kid, but also have to consider other kids, consequences of doing things like moving from the family home, not going to regular school, etc.

1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey? We are getting near the 3 year mark of TTC #3. This will also be our first round of IVF if everything works out.
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share? Not really
3. QOTW - IHO the Olympics. Say you have a ten year old kid who excels at a sport. His coaches tell you he could be a champion if you were willing to take it to the next level starting right then. I wouldn't commit too much. I think kids should be kids. I am also concerned about the effect of Olympic training on a child's body. I might be willing to supplement with private training. I just wouldn't want it to take over her life and childhood.
1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey? 2dpIUI#3
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share? No more than usual
I supect my H may disagree with me but I would want them to go for it and would do what was necessary to help them, whether that was moving or hiring a trainer I guess would depend on our situation at the time.
1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey? Cycle 7, CD 9
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share? Originally we were planning to take this cycle off because of timing and also because we're getting stressed about this. Might not take it off per say but just kind of go with the flow. I'm not temping or using OPKs or anything.

I really don't know how to answer this - while exceptional athletic achievement would be great, I also think I would want my kid to just have a normal childhood
1. I am 1 day late on cycle 10 or 11 TTC #4, I've felt yucky. & pregnant this month but I tested a few days ago and BFN. Not testing again until I get he next week. I am up at our cabin in the mountains & trying not to think much about it.
2. My mom said something about maybe you are just meant to have 3 kid's & it pissed me off. This comes from a woman who tried for years for #4 & ended adopting (then having another 9mo later). She didn't just accept that she was meant to have 3.
3. I would do most anything as long as it didn't screw up the lives of the other kid's in the family.
1. Cycle 12, day 2 2. I have been having dreams that I'm pregnant all the time, including 3 of the last 4 nights. It's starting to bother me. 3. We actually talked about this last night. It would depend on the number of children we had--it would be a easier if the kid in question was an only child, but we would be less inclined if there were siblings that would feel resentment over one child getting favored.
1. Cycle 2, day 7 2. nada this week 3. Maybe, but it would depend on how much their life would change. Additional practices might be ok with, moving to another state, probably not.

1. 9dpIUI#3. Beta is next Tuesday.
2. Nothing. Just glad to not be injecting myself anymore.
3. If he/she was having fun with it, and it wasn't at the detriment to the other kids/rest of the family, I'd let them go as far as they wanted to go, I think.
2. I POAS this morning. Couldn't help it. Wondfo's are so cheap! BFN of course - I know it's way too early. I wasn't gonna tell DH but later he asked me "So, when do you want to start testing?" so I had to admit it.
Also, DH had a physical last week and found out Monday that his testosterone is low. He is waiting to speak to the doctor today about it but the office suggested a referral to an endo. I'm slightly concerned. But, he struggles with fatigue so if correcting this helps then it would definitely be a good thing.
3. I have a feeling I'd do a whole lot. Like, 5 AM practices, mortgaging the house for a trainer, quitting my job, etc. Maybe not, but I suspect I would be that parent. I'm not sure it's healthy, but I know myself.

1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey? Cycle 3, Day 6
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share? We were going to take this month off but we've decided to keep going. Yay!
I would probably do whatever it takes as long as it makes my kid happy and we don't feel that it is taking an emotional/physical toll.
1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey? Cycle 11, CD4
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share? I'm over TTC. It just sucks! I'll be calling an RE in a couple of weeks so I am excited to get some answers soon.
3. QOTW - IHO the Olympics. Say you have a ten year old kid who excels at a sport. His coaches tell you he could be a champion if you were willing to take it to the next level starting right then. WWYD? And how much would you commit to your child's future as an athlete? Assume he/she wants to advance and understands as best a ten year old can the level of commitment needed. I would do everything I could to support them and get them to the Olympics. I was just say to H last night that I would love it if one of our children went to the Olympics. H could have gone to the US trials when he was in HS if he hadn't quit swimming and I think he really regrets it so I would like it if he could live vicariously through our children. I've even been thinking about what sports they would probably do. H loves swimming and I love running and tennis so I think they'd either do swimming, track and field or tennis. But I would support any sport that they want to do, except perhaps table tennis .
2. My breasts have been very, very sore since Saturday. So sore that when I roll onto them in the middle of the night, the pain wakes me up. It could just be bad PMS. I will not allow myself to test unless AF is actually late.
3. DD is already 4 and has shown zero interest in any sports she has tried. I don't see her being Olyppic material for anything and she's also not a particularly competitive kid. A heck of a lot would have to happen in the next six years for me to have to really face the situation in the question.
I'm inclined to say I'd rather not rearrange my life for my child to win the Olympics.

1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey? Cycle 3, CD14.
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share? I bought Yes Baby and will be using it this month. I feel like a dork. The little tubes have smiling sperm on them.
I would let them train if they understood what was involved and if they really wanted to do it, with the understanding that school comes first.
1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey? Cycle 2, CD 22, 3DPO (I think)
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share? Not really. I a mgoing to start charting next cycle so I've been reading about that. Totally confusing atm.
I would be as committed as the child. I would also be one of those crazy moms at the Olympics that the camera can't help but go to because of how emotional I would be.
2) I am angry, confused, frustrated. I have days when I feel optimistic and days when I feel like this is never going to happen. I am having my HSG on Friday and my consult w/ my RE is next week.
3) The chances of this happening are slim, as neither H or I are athletic. I think that we would be supportive, but we wouldn't have the financial resources to go to far and wouldn't go to extreme measures to fund for it.

1. Cycle 1, CD 24, 8 dpo
2. I started spotting, which I know could mean implantation, but likely that I'm out for this cycle. But since I'm not sure, I'm still avoiding Advil, and Tylenol just isn't doing the same for the aches and fever chills of this cold I caught on vacation. Oh, and DH left on a business trip this morning. :-(
3. I don't know...don't feel well enough for abstract thought questions, but I think this would be an interesting discussion to have with DH.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
1. Where are you in your cycle or TTC journey? 2/3 days post IUI
2. Any news/AWs/vents to share? I'm really afraid baby #2 isn't going to happen for us
I'm not really sure, although part of it would depend if I have other children.
1. We decided to start 2 mos ago, then didn't do anything last month because I was so stressed out and exhausted. Now, we hope to start again this month.
2. I hate TTC. Now, I'm considering using OPKs. We didn't do anything with DD1; got pregnant the first try. This time, it bothers me that it's taking us more than 1 try. I know it's normal, but I feel disappointed when AF arrives.
QUESTION: Can anyone give me a quick info on using OPKs? Not really sure how they work. I just read it on this thread.
