I just finished reading this book (#5 in the Game of Thrones series) and I was so pissed at the ending. Anyone else? I thought both books 4 and 5 were terrible.
It's been a long time since I read book 4 so I decided to wait on ADWD until book 6 comes out sometime later this century since I have a hard time breaking up series. That said, George R.R. Martin really makes me angry sometimes and I'm not always a fan...though I absolutely want to find out what happens to the characters.

I agree somewhat. It's obvious when you read the novels that Crows and Dragons are happening simultaneously. But the whole time I read Crows, I wished I knew what was going on with Jon and Tyrion. And the whole time I read Dragons, I wished I knew what was happening with Brienne and Sansa. I was also very bored while reading Dragons because Dany has so much plot armor that her storylines are shallow and make me roll my eyes. Everything just took a reeeaallllyyy long time to develop. Journeys were described mile by mile. There was alot of conflict without much humor.
*shrugs* I'm still looking forward to The Winds of Winter, but I'm glad to have Crows and Dragons behind me.
I was unhappy with DwD too. It made it feel like there will never be a payoff with Dany or Jon Snow, especially with the introduction of the new character. Dany especially has already gone through so much, but even her triumphant moments don't end up in her favor.

I kind of felt the same but I thought it was more because I had read the entire series back-to-back (was just introduced to this series) and was burnt out. I dunno know, I'm hoping the next one (whenever that comes out) will be far better.

Storm is my favorite in the series so far because it was so exciting. I was hoping that after drudging through Feast I would be rewarded for my efforts in Dance, but no. I am pretty ticked about the ending in particular. I really, really hope that Winds is more like Storm when/if it ever comes out in the next seven years or so.
