Is that the family that also has the little boy* who may or may not be schizophrenic but has other developmental issues as well? If so I watched earlier this summer and also really felt for them and was impressed with the things they've done to make life work for the family.

I did read some other articles that were criticizing the family and were saying that she might not be schizophrenic but might actually have some other sensory issues or some other mental illness. It was interesting to read, but I'm not going to side with them. I think they seem to be doing the best for their children.

Yes, January is her name and her parents live in two apartments. One with her and the other with her little brother. It is stressful to watch. I can't imagine how challenging it is for her parents. Yet at the same time, there is an incredible sense of hope. I cried like 4 times in an hour watching it!

I saw the Oprah special. I didn't realize they had their own show. It looked like SUCH a hard life to live. I can't imagine.

I feel so bad for the whole family. You think in this day and age there would be something they could figure out to help the poor kid. I know that mental illness can be impossible to treat though.
