@uwhuskygirl you have no idea... She had some deluded idea that after graduation she was going to make $160k a year because she had a 4.0 GPA. Uh no.
So I'm awake, woke up because of backpain but I need to go back to sleep because 5 am comes early! My BFF just had her baby about 2 hrs ago so I'm looking forward to seeing (and photographing) her baby this week!
@uwhuskygirl I am always bummed for you when Thanksgiving comes around. The UK usually wins at holidays, but sheesh, two days off to eat, watch football and take naps, they have no idea what they are missing!
H is working from home today because I supposedly have a birthday surprise after I'm done working. He usually can't keep a secret so I'm very impressed. No clue what it is though. He said i could wear yoga pants so it's not dinner or anything like that.
I have a mancold this morning, but it's not slowing me down at least. Work is meh as I keep needing help from people to get anything done, hopefully that ends soon.

This is true. My British friends were all like this is like Christmas, but with more food!
Eta: the best was one one of them had pumpkin pie for the first time and he said, "omg this is like PSL!"

Good morning. We had an early Thanksgiving with my mom and step-dad on Saturday. It was perfect.
Yesteday we cut down our tree. We got hailed on big time. Tman got a little nervous and retreated to the barn thing. They were pretty big hail stones and they were bouncing and hitting him in the face.
Anyway, our tree is fabulous. A little short, but still fantastic.
I decorated Tman's room a little bit, too, and he just loves it. He's so funny when it comes to that kind of stuff.
I work today and tomorrow, pretty busy days, too, which is good. Tomorow, Tman has a field trip, so that's exciting. I wish I could go, but with it being such a short work week, I just couldn't ask for it off. I'll go to the next one for sure!
We are having Chinese with my dad for Thanksgiving and then watching the game.
I think this week is going to be rad. I'm excited for it.
Morning, we hosted a great Friendsgiving last night and played a fairly tame game of Cards against Humanity. I bought a brined turkey from Trader Joes and it was awesome. I usually brune my own so it saved me a whole bunch time. I have to work friday so its gonna be a kinda lame holiday weekend.

mkate710 - Happy Birthday! Can't wait to hear about the surprise. alias - I think I'm going to live vicariously through you for awhile. Sounds like a good weekend mrslefty - that sucks they didn't show! The person who was supposed to have a kindergarten conference before us didn't show either. Do you have to reschedule a time? Or is it a they snooze they lose thing? Would suck if you had to try to find another time to fit them in, but I guess yay for classroom cleaning and planning time?
Normal day at work for me. My parents are coming over tonight. They live on Bainbridge and are taking the train out tomorrow to visit my brother, so they're going to stay with us tonight. Which probably means dinner out then home to watch Masterchef Junior with the kids.
We're fairly ready for Thanksgiving. I made 68 rolls yesterday - 20 for a teacher's lunch today and 48 for Thanksgiving (we want lots of leftovers to make sandwiches for the mountain). H is off with the kids today so I'm hoping he's going to hit the grocery store. Yesterday I also got the skis and snow gear packed, and the kids clothing packed, so the rest of packing should be pretty easy.

I had an early morning today. I am hoping my coworker can get off early so we can happy hour, but if not I'll be happy to save some $. And I am going out tomorrow night too, so it would be good to get a little extra snuggle time with bkb.
I have to work black friday and small business saturday, so I will be cyber shopping. I think I'll order the team jimmy johns on friday, even though I've probably spent too much money on them already. It just stinks working black friday and the day after Christmas.
AF is deciding she wants to visit with the rest of the family for Thanksgiving so I'm unable to concentrate today and a little on-edge. Last Illustrator Class tonight! H and I put up some supplemental wire racks in the pantry yesterday so I have the home-canned jars off the counters finally. We both worked on cleaning and decluttering but still more to do before my brother arrives on Wednesday. Thank God it's a short week!

I don't plan on doing any Black Friday shopping, and I plan on buying most of the X-mas gifts this year from local small businesses so no Cyber Monday shopping either.
I'm having a heck of a time finding people to be references for job searching. I'm guessing a lot of them are on vacay this week and not looking at email
My dad arrives tonight at stupid o'clock. I was seriously tempted to send a car service for him instead of getting him myself. In the end I have decided to go to bed at 8:30 to get 2.5 hours of sleep before I have to leave the house to go get him.

I've seriously been slacking on the work front, I need to get it together. Can't imagine it being a short work week and half my staff gone is going to really help this situation.
