It's my bday! I slept until 11 today! Staycation is great! Lol I'm going to have lunch with mom, try and return something I ordered from ON and maybe hit up a few stores in that mall. J and I wil either go out or have takeout for dinner.

How did dinner go? Did you end up eating where you wanted?

I am tired from a lot of intense things that have been happening but things are mostly going well. I look forward to chilling on Thanksgiving. I worked every day of the weekend but on Saturday night, BF and I had a nice dinner and then went to my friend's party. It was definitely fun but I felt sleepy from 11 PM onward and had to leave at midnight to crash.
BF is leaving the area to visit family for Thanksgiving later this week so I won't see him for a while. I might see him on Sunday afternoon.

Thanks! Dinner went well and yes it was where I wanted. (I posted a little tidbit afterwards last night in sun randoms)
What's that? You all want to see my new gown? I'd hate to be an aw of course. Okay I lie, I'm totally going to aw this. I'd wear it to work if I could get away with it lol
Three day work week - I CAN DO THIS, I CAN DO THIS.
I went food shopping last night and of course they didn't have two of the ingredients I needed for the appetizer I'm bringing to Thanksgiving so I have to go to a different store today. They are always out of my yogurt too. Maybe I need a new supermarket but it's so close to home.
What are you making? I saw a recipe on Pinterest for pecan Brie bites in phyllo dough. Yum!!!!
I didn't want to take up oven space or try to keep something warm on the long drive so I'm keeping it simple - I make little toothpick caprese skewers with small pieces of tomato, basil and fresh mozzarella, then drizzle the platter in balsamic glaze. People always really like them. The Brie bites sound delish!
berbles, good luck on interview! What are ya gonna wear???
I have no clue at the moment.
I need to look through what my mom and I each have. I have a bunch of my mom's work clothes in my storage unit, which is luckily very close to my work.
I wasn't sure what type of interview. Sometimes you could get away with a nice dress with a cardigan.
I wore things like this when applying for jobs as a server or at a retail store, but I am pretty sure berbles is a paralegal. Anything in the professional world requires a suit for an interview. Actual work may be business casual, but interviews = suit.

It's an exec admin (to the CEO) position. I think a suit is a no brainer.
And since it's a recruiting firm, there will probably be other positions to consider.

Ohhhh, yes! Sounds like a good position. I actually love suits. LOL.

Understood, and agreed 100%. Yes, in the professional world a suit it is. I wear them most days in my work world. I love a suit. My H thinks I have a suit problem. I believe one can never have to many of a classic black suit.

I respectfully disagree. In law, yes and also in many fields, but not all. I would have gotten laughed out of the office if I wore a suit on my interviews and likely wouldn't have gotten hired for not fitting in with company culture. In fact I was encouraged not to dress up and my second interview was unexpected so I was wearing jeans. Granted not all companies are startups but I this is a very legal-skewed perspective. There are plenty of professional positions where a suit isn't warranted for an interview.
sweetchix, it is super windy here in Western NY, and WARM. Are you okay? Is your snow melting too quickly?
So far so good here. All the snow near me is gone, but again, we only got about a foot here. No flooding near me yet and I don't think it's flooded enough to cause issues for anyone anywhere. Yet. There is a creek on my way into work that looked pretty high at lunchtime. It will sometimes flood the road and may do that tomorrow or Wednesday if the snowmelt continues. Thanks for asking

I could see how culture could play a part, I was gearing it towards legal due to knowing berbles (unless I'm wrong) currently work at a law firm. The only other job I have had was as a corporate accounts manager for a large corporation where everyday I was required to wear a suit jacket, so my experience is limited to more uptight careers.
